"ABSTRAKStudi kasus ini untuk memperlihatkan bagaimana tiga pustakawan yang bekerja di perpustakaan khusus pertanian melaksanakan tugasnya. Interview mendalam digunakan sebagai cara untuk mengumpulkan data. Sebelas pertanyaan dalam kuesioner semi struktur digunakan untuk memperoleh persepsi bagaimana pengaturan hierarkhi organisasi perpustakaan, keberadaan kewenangan formal bagi pustakawan untuk melaksanakan pekerjaan dan apa yang dapat diperoleh dan dihasilkan oleh pustakawan dari dukungan dana dan pendidikan yang diberikan oleh organisasi induk. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa organisasi perpustakaan berada di bawah pengelolaan Seksi Jasa dan Penelitian yang ada di masing-masing balai, tidak ada pendelegasian formal kepada pustakawan untuk melaksanakan pekerjaannya serta dukungan dana dan pendidikan yang diberikan organisasi induk telah memungkinkan pustakawan untuk melaksanakan pekerjaannya dan menghasilkan informasi guna mendukung kegiatan penelitian. Implikasi pauti ag yang muncul dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa persepsi pustakawan terhadap kekuasaan pengetahuan pribadinya adalah suatu mandat untuk memenuhi perannya sebagai pustakawan, lebih baik daripada kekuasaan posisi atau jabatan. Hal penting yang juga perlu ditekankan disini, walaupun kewenangan struktural pustakawan terbatas, keinginan mereka untuk menjadi pustakawan profesional tak terbatas.

ABSTRAK

A case study to portray how three librarians of agricultural libraries carry out their task with limited authority is conducted in depth-interview is used as means to collect the data. Eleven questions of semi-structured questionnaires are used to elicit what the librarian 's perception on how the hierarchical authority of the library set up, the existence of librarians formal authority to do the job and what the librarians can gain and produce out of the support provided by the parent organizations. The research findings show clearly that the library organization is structured under the management of Research Services Units, there is no formal authority delegated to librarians to do their job and the financial support and formal and informal education facilities have enabled the librarian; to perform their task and produce information to support the research activities. The important implication of the research reveals that the librarians perceive their personal expertise power as a mandate to fulfill their roles as librarians better than their position one. This is also important to emphasize that nevertheless do the librarians have their structural authority limited, but their willingness to make themselves professional are unlimited."
