"Penelitian ini mengkaji teks Wawacan Layang Siti Hasanah (WLSH) yang tertulis dalam naskah berbahasa Jawa dan berbentuk wawacan. Teks ini dikaji dengan cara kerja filologi yang meliputi tekstologi dan kodikologi. Selain itu, teori resepsi juga dipakai guna mengungkap makna dan isi teks. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyajikan suntingan dan terjemahan teks WLSH, mengidentifikasi perubahan-perubahan yang terdapat dalam WLSH dari teks hikayat Melayu menjadi puisi wawacan, dan menjelaskan bentuk-bentuk resepsi pengikut Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqshabandiyah di Indramayu Jawa Barat abad ke-20 dalam teks WLSH. Penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa teks WLSH meresepsi dua hal. Pertama, dalam aspek narasi penceritaan, teks WLSH meresepsi teks Cerita Siti Hasanah (CSH). Resepsi dari teks Melayu ini juga menghasilkan perubahan pola dari hikayat ke wawacan dalam bentuk tokoh, latar tempat, dan kerangka cerita. Kedua, dalam penjelasan keislaman, teks WLSH meresepsi teks Kitab Tilmisani, Kitab al-Durra atau Kitab Sanusi, Kitab Mufid atau Al-Mufīd, Matnu al-Zubad fī Ilmi al-Fiqhi alā Maẓhabi al-Imām al-Shāfiī, al-Aqnā fī Ḥalli Alfāz Abī Shujā, dan Insān Kāmil. Bentuk-bentuk resepsi WLSH terhadap teks-teks keislaman tersebut berupa penjelasan tentang kewajiban salat lima waktu, ajaran makrifat Nūr Muḥammad, dan sifat-sifat bagi Allah. penelitian tentang WLSH ini membuka pengetahuan baru tentang wawacan yang juga menyebar di wilayah pesisir Jawa Barat yang banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat pesantren atau tarekat. Selain itu, penelitian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan kontribusi akan pencarian identitas kesusastraan yang berkembang di Indramayu pada abad ke-19.

This research examines the text of Wawacan Layang Siti Hasanah (WLSH) written in Javanese text and the form of wawacan. This text is examined by the work of philology which includes textology and codicology. Besides, the reception theory is also used to reveal the meaning and content of the text. The research aims to present text edition and translation of WLSH, identify changes contained in WLSH from Malay hikayat to wawacan poetry, and explain the reception forms of Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqshabandiyah orders in Indramayu, West Java in the 20th century in WLSH texts. This research revealed that the WLSH text received two things. First, in the narrative aspect of storytelling, the WLSH text received the Malay text entitled Cerita Siti Hasanah (CSH). The reception from the Malay text also produced a change in pattern from hikayat to wawacan in the form of characters, settings, and story frames. Second, in Islamic explanation, the text of WLSH recept the text of the Kitab Tilmisani, Kitab al-Durra or Kitab Sanusi, Kitab Mufid or Al-Mufīd, Matnu al-Zubad fī Ilmi al-Fiqhi alā Maẓhabi al-Imām al-Shāfiī, al-Aqnā fī Ḥalli Alfāz Abī Shujā, dan Insān Kāmil. The form of Islamic text reception aims to explain the obligation to pray five times a day, the teachings of Nūr Muḥammad, and the attributes for Allah. this research on WLSH opens up new horizons of knowledge about wawacan which also spread in the coastal areas of West Java. This study also revealed that the wawacan texts in Indramayu were widely used by the pesantren or tarekat community. In addition, this research is expected to be able to contribute to the search for literary identity that developed in Indramayu in the 19th century."

Further explored, in the 19205, the spirit of nationalism are grew, including among the (priayi) noble women. They formed an association and held the Indonesian Womens Congress I in 1928. According to Susan Blackburn, what women did at the time was their nationalistic form, becoming Mothers of the Nation. Using a historical approach, this paper seeks to retrace how early noble women came into existence and formulated their ideas of nationalism.
