"Gaya bahasa adalah cara yang khas dalam menyatakan sesuatu dengan bahasa. Penelitian ini membahas penggunaan gaya bahasa yang merujuk pada asosiasi kekalahan dan kemenangan suatu tim sepakbola dalam judul artikel online www.goal.com/nl/ berbahasa Belanda. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memaparkan berbagai penggunaan gaya bahasa dalam judul artikel tersebut. Selain itu, juga bertujuan menguraikan fungsi atau efek yang ditimbulkan dari penggunaan gaya bahasa. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan juga metode kuantitatif didapatkan hasil analisis yang menunjukkan bahwa judul-judul artikel online di atas memuat 6 kombinasi berbagai gaya bahasa ellipsis, hiperbola, metafora, metonimia dan personifikasi. Hasil analisis juga memuat bahwa kombinasi gaya bahasa tertentu membawa berbagai fungsi tertentu seperti, memperkuat tuturan, memberi kritik dan berpikir lebih dalam.

Figure of speech is a typical way to express something through language. This paper analyses the use of figure of speech es in thirty titles of Dutch online articles taken from www.goal.com nl, referring to the association of defeat and victory of football teams in European football competition. The aim of this research is to explain and identify the various uses of the figure of speech es and its functions or effects. By using the descriptive qualitative and also quantitative method, the paper shows that the titles of the online articles consist of 6 combination of various figure of speeches ellipsis, hyperbola, metaphor, metonymy and personification. The results of the analysis also indicate that combination of certain figure of speeches a paired with various functions such as, function to strengthen a speech, to criticize and to think more deeply."
