"Skripsi ini membahas proses perjuangan MNLF yang dipimpin oleh Nur Misuari untuk bangsa Moro mulai dari tahun 1969 ampai 1976. Perjuangan yang dilakukan MNLF bertujuan untuk mendapatkan penghidupan yang layak seperti manusia pada umumnya. Hal yang demikian karena ada upaya dari pemerintahan Filipina untuk menghilangkan identitas bangsa Moro (Islam) dengan cara perpindahan penduduk dari utara ke selatan, sehingga bangsa Moro menjadi minoritas di wilayah selatan. Selain itu pemerintah Filipina juga melakukan diskriminasi ekonomi, social, pendidikan dan politik. Penulisan ini adalah penulisan deskriftif dengan tujuan untuk menjelaskan kepada masyarakat umum bahwa keinginan MNLF untuk memisahkan wilayah selatan dari Filipina karena tidak mendapatkan hak-hak sebagai warga Negara.

This thesis discusses the process of the struggle of theMNLF led by Nur Misuari for Moro nation from 1969 to 1976. MNLF struggle carried out aiming to obtain a decent living as human beings in general. This is so because there is an effort of the Philippine government to eliminate the nation_s identity Moro (Muslim) by the displacement of population from north to south, so that the Moro people become a minority in the southern region. Besides the Philippine government also conducts economic discrimination, social, educational, and political. TheWriting is descriptive writing eith the aim to explain to the general public that the MNLF desire to separate the southern region of the Philippines because it does not get the rights as citizens."

"ABSTRAKThe Esperanto movement in Indonesia has grown in the past five years from being almost non-existent to having a national association with several clubs. One might therefore assume that the Esperanto movement in Indonesia is a totally recent phenomenon. However, already at the beginning of the twentieth century there were Esperantists in the territory of today?s Indonesia. Between the two World Wars the movement was active: periodicals and books were published, courses held, and clubs and associations established. As a result of the Second World War this vigorous movement collapsed, but following independence the movement reflourished under the guidance of the Minangkabau journalist and feminist Rangkajo Chailan Sjamsoe Datoe Toemenggoeng. In November 1962 Datoe Toemenggoeng unfortunately passed away, and soon afterward the Esperanto movement again collapsed. Research reveals that this repeated disappearance of the movement was due not only to the death of this leader, but mostly to political factors."

"In 1908, a Welsh Doctor named Peter Fraser turned down a lucrative job with the Kings Government in London and instead wore the robes of a Christian missionary to travel to the remote Lushai Hills of north-east India-the habitat of a reportedly wild, headhunting tribal people. Fraser not only found acceptance among the tribals, but also came in conflict with the colonial state over the tribal practice of bawi, a practice he found akin to slavery. This clash was symptomatic of a larger issue that marked colonialism in south Asia: the tussle between the colonial administration and the missionary institutions. Challenging the notion of a monolithic colonial experience, The Uprising chronicles this struggle which witnessed Fraser, after being expelled by his own mission, petitioning and lobbying for the issue in the British Parliament through the Anti-Slavery Society and even taking the issue to the League of Nations to make an intervention which had lasting impact on the lives and history of the Lushai people (Mizo tribe). Writing in a narrative form, the book brings out the immense historical significance of the contradictions between the colonial state and the missionary institutions, and argues that neither institution, contrary to popular perception, was a liberating agency."

"Upaya panjang mencari penyelesaian damai konflik di Filipina Selatan melibatkan intervensi dua negara yang berbeda, Libya dan Indonesia, yang berperan sebagai mediator, dalam kerangka Organisasi Konferensi Islam. Namun dalam menjalankan perannya kedua negara tersebut memiliki keberhasilan yang berbeda. Hal ini menarik untuk ditelaah lebih jauh terutama memahami apa yang menjadi pembeda keberhasilan antara Indonesia dan Libya sebagai pihak ketiga dalam penyelesaian konflik antara Pemerintah Filipina dan MNLF di Filipina Selatan, dan bagaimana perbedaan itu dapat terjadi.Dalam penelitian ini dipergunakan konsep Oran Young dan Marvin Ott bahwa keberhasilan mediasi dalam resolusi konflik antara lain tergantung pada kapabilitas mediator yaitu ketidakberpihakan, independensi dan leverage.Konsep lain yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah konsep Brian Frederking, Andrea Pyatt dan Shaun Randol yaitu, peran jenis aktoraktor regional (Indonesia) dan ekstra-regional (Libya)-dalam upaya mediasi. Metode yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam mengenai mengenai keberhasilan peran pihak ketiga dalam resolusi konflik, dengan mengambil kasus mediasi Libya dan Indonesia dalam penyelesaian konflik di Filipina Selatan.Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-analitis.Unit analisis penelitian ini adalah negara.Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa perbedaan kapabilitas antara Indonesia dan Libya memiliki hubungan terhadap resolusi konflik di Filipina Selatan, terutama faktor persepsi keberpihakan atau ketidakberpihakan, ketergantungan, penerimaan dan leverage kedua negara oleh aktor yang memiliki kemampuan menentukan dalam konflik, dalam kasus ini Pemerintah Filipina.Lebih jauh ini mengindikasikan bahwa efektifitas peran pihak ketiga sebagai mediator dalam konflik ditentukan oleh sifat konflik (internalminoritas) dan distribusi kekuatan (power) antara pihak-pihak yang bertikai."
