"Skripsi ini membahas tentang peran dan identitas ilustrator di tengah maraknya penggunaan AI Art. Keberadaan AI Art yang mampu menciptakan ilustrasi secara otomatis telah menimbulkan pertanyaan kritis apakah kehadiran kecerdasan buatan ini akan menggantikan peran tradisional ilustrator di masa depan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini adalah wawancara mendalam dengan tiga subjek yang merupakan ilustrator berpengalaman, serta dilakukan observasi terhadap aktivitas mereka di media sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman dan pandangan beragam para ilustrator tentang potensi mereka akan digantikan oleh AI. Ilustrator meyakini memiliki kelebihan tersendiri dibandingkan dengan AI yang mendasari tindakan mereka dalam membuat ilustrasi yang berbeda dengan hasil ilustrasi buatan AI.

This paper discusses the role and identity of the illustrator in the midst of the widespread use of AI Art. The existence of AI Art which is able to create illustrations automatically has raised a critical question whether the presence of artificial intelligence will replace the traditional role of the illustrator in the future. The research method used for this paper is in-depth interviews with three subjects who are experienced illustrators, as well as observing their activities on social media. The results of this study show that illustrators has diverse understanding and views of their potential will be replaced by AI. Illustrators believe they have their own advantages compared to AI which underlies their actions in making illustrations that are different from the illustrations made by AI."

Karya seni tersebut selama ini dibuat oleh manusia dengan peralatan yang berbeda, dengan penggunaan alat yang berbeda maka hasil yang di dapat juga berbeda. Tetapi bagaimana dengan AI? Bagaimana jika AI menjadi alat yang dapat bekerja tanpa adanya ‘kemampuan khusus’ dari senimannya? Apakah karya yang lahir kemudian dapat dikategorikan sebagai suatu karya seni? When we hear the 'artwork', what comes to our mind may be painting, sculpture, photography that is displayed in large frames, music, poetry, drama, and others. These works of art have been made by humans with different equipment, with the use of different tools, the results obtained are also different. But what about AI? What if AI became a tool that could work without the artist's 'special ability'? Can the work that was born later be categorized as a work of art? For Tolstoy, art has its own purpose, namely to provide an emotional sensation that infects the observer of the work from the artist through the work they encounter. But is it through one simple condition that it deserves to be called art? In this paper, the author takes a philosophical approach by analyzing AI artwork using the thoughts of a number of philosophers such as Tolstoy and Baudelaire to then be able to find out where the work produced by AI should be and explain the urgency of categorizing AI art."

"Perkembangan teknologi yang pesat belakangan ini menghasilkan teknologi Kecerdasan Buatan atau Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) yang semakin canggih dan memasuki kehidupan manusia secara ekstensif. Saat ini telah bermunculan teknologi AI yang dapat membuat karya-karya seni seperti lukisan dan tulisan. Tidak jarang masyarakat kemudian memanfaatkan karya-karya seni buatan AI tersebut, baik untuk kepentingan pribadi maupun untuk kepentingan komersial yang menimbulkan manfaat ekonomi. Peristiwa ini menyebabkan timbulnya diskusi mengenai kedudukan karya seni yang dibuat oleh AI menurut Hukum Kekayaan Intelektual, baik di Indonesia maupun di negara-negara lain, seperti apakah karya tersebut dapat dilindungi Hak Cipta dan siapa Pencipta atau Pemegang Hak Ciptanya. Penelitian ini menganalisis peristiwa pemanfaatan ekonomi atas karya seni buatan AI serta pihak-pihak yang berhak atas manfaat ekonomi tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian normatif. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa dengan mempertimbangkan teknologi AI terdiri dari dua komponen yaitu data dan program, maka sejauh ini pemrogram yang memiliki kendali atas pemanfaatan ekonomi karya-karya seni yang dibuat oleh AI.

Recent rapid technological advancements have result in Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) technology becoming increasingly sophisticated and entering human life extensively. Currently, AI technology has emerged that can create works of art such as paintings and writing. It is not uncommon for people to use works of art created by AI, both for personal interests and for commercial purposes that generate economic benefits. Such happening has led to discussions regarding the status of works of art created by AI according to Intellectual Property Law, both in Indonesia and in other countries, such as whether these works can be protected by copyright and who the creator or copyright holder is. This research analyzes the economic use of AI-made works of art as well as the parties entitled to these economic benefits. This research is normative research. In this research it was found that considering AI technology consists of two components, namely data and programs, so far the programmer has control over the economic use of AI-made works of art."
