"Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengamati proses perencanaan produksi yang diterapkan perusahaan manufaktur PT X, merancang perencanaan produksi dan pengendalian persediaan yang komprehensif sehingga dapat mengatasi terjadinya kekurangan maupun kelebihan persediaan pada perusahaan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi pada perusahaan manufaktur PT X, perusahaan manufaktur yang memproduksi kasur per di kota Makassar. Data yang digunakan merupakan data primer dan sekunder, berupa wawancara yang dilakukan pada jajaran staf dan manajemen PT X, serta data historis perusahaan. Hasil penelitian berupa perencanaan produksi yang melewati tahap peramalan permintaan, pembentukan jadwal induk produksi, serta perencanaan kebutuhan sumber daya. Selain itu, peneliti juga membentuk sistem pengendalian persediaan yang dapat mendukung kelancaran proses produksi perusahaan dengan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), persediaan pengaman, dan titik pemesanan kembali. Hasil penelitian belum tentu dapat diterapkan pada perusahaan lain dengan pola permintaan maupun pada perusahaan dengan industri yang berbeda. Selain itu, metode yang digunakan dalam pembentukan perencanaan produksi dan pengendalian persediaan pun menjadi keterbatasan dalam penelitian ini.

This research was conducted with the aim of observing the production planning process applied by the manufacturing company PT X then designing a comprehensive production planning and inventory control so that it can overcome the occurrence of shortages and excess of inventory in the company. The research method used is a qualitative method which was conducted by observing the manufacturing company PT X, a manufacturing company that produces springbeds. The data used are primary and secondary data, using instruments such as interviews, conducted on staffs and management of PT X, site visits, as well as company historical data. The results of the research were in the form of production planning, through demand forecasting, master production schedule, and planning for resource requirements. In addition, the researcher also established an inventory control system that could support the company's production process using the EOQ method, safety stock, and reorder points. The research was conducted in Makassar, at a springbed manufacturing company. The results of the research are not necessarily applicable to other companies with different demand patterns or to companies with different industries. In addition, the methods used in production planning and inventory control are limited in this study."

Manajemen persediaan dan ketersediaan persediaan merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam industri, terlebih lagi dalam industri manufaktur. Oleh karena itu, suatu kebijakan manajemen persediaan yang teratur dibutuhkan agar perusahaan dapat mengatur ketersediaan dari persediaan produknya, sehingga produksi dan penjualan dari produknya dapat terlaksana dengan teratur dan tidak terhambat oleh kekurangan persediaan. Penerapan model (R, Q) dapat membantu perusahaan untuk mengatur persediaannya dengan teratur melalui penetapan titik pemesanan kembali dan jumlah pemesanan barang, sehingga pengadaan persediaan dapat dijalankan dengan sistematis. Penerapan model (R, Q) juga dapat digunakan dengan mempertimbangkan kebijakan pemeriksaan persediaan secara periodik, kebijakan backlog, kapasitas gudang penyimpanan bahan baku, kekurangan persediaan, dan pemesanan berlebih untuk persediaan barang tersebut. Penelitian ini menghasilkan nilai titik pemesanan kembali untuk bekuan karet mentah pada posisi persediaan sebesar 72 ton dan jumlah pemesanan sebesar 55,09 ton. Nilai-nilai tersebut akan menghasilkan biaya total manajemen persediaan sebesar Rp23.830.692,95 per siklus, yaitu biaya total manajemen persediaan dengan nilai terkecil berdasarkan nilai titik pemesanan kembali dan jumlah pemesanan yang digunakan.

Inventory management and inventory availability are important aspects in the industry, especially for manufacturing industry. Due to that, a regulated inventory management policy is needed so that the company can manage the availability of its product, so that the production and sales of the product can be done properly and not be disrupted by the lack of inventory. The application of (R, Q) model can help the company to properly manage its inventory through the determination of reorder point and order quantity, thus inventory procurement can be systematically done. The (R, Q) model can also be used by considering periodic inventory review policy, backlog policy, raw material storage capacity, inventory shortage, and the over-ordering of the products inventory. This research generates the value of reorder point of raw rubber lumps at 72 tons and the order quantity at 55,09 tons. Those values incur the total cost of inventory management of Rp23.830.692,95 per cycle, which is the total cost of inventory management with the lowest value based on the values of reorder point and order quantity that are used.
