"This book uses a substantively new research model and source base for studying the working lives of early modern men and women. With an innovative analytic method that is, in turn, yoked to a specially built database of source materials, the book revises many received opinions about the history of gender and work in Europe. The verb-oriented method finds the work verbs that appear incidentally in a wide variety of early modern sources and then analyzes the context in which they appear. By tying information technologies and computer-assisted analysis to the analytic powers, both quantitative and qualitative of professional historians, the method gets much closer to a participatory observation of the micro-patterns of early modern life than was once believed possible. The book confronts a number of broad problems often debated by historians of gender and early modern Europe. First, it discusses the problem of assessing more accurately the incidence, character, and division of work. Second, it analyzes the configurations of work and human difference. Third, it deals with the extent to which work practices created notions of difference, gender difference but also other forms of difference, and, conversely, to what extent work practices contributed to notions of sameness and gender convergence. Finally, it studies the impact of processes of change: state formation, growing commercialization, and social differentiation.

"PT Krakatau Steel sebagai perusahaan baja terpadu yang sedang berusaha untuk tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi perusahaan terkemuka di dunia memiliki kebudayaan perusahaan yang digunakan untuk menjadi pedoman karyawan dalam bertindak selama di perusahaan. Kebudayaan perusahaan yang dimiliki oleh PT Krakatau Steel saat ini adalah CIRI (Competence, Integrity, Reliable, Innovative). CIRI digunakan oleh perusahaan salah satunya adalah sebagai strategi bisnis untuk mewujudkan visi perusahaan. Penelitian ini fokus kepada penerapan nilai budaya CIRI oleh karyawan Divisi Applied Research. Penelitian ini membahas secara etnografis budaya kerja Divisi Applied Research , perilaku karyawan, dan aturan-aturan yang berlaku di dalamnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap informan, dan pengamatan terlibat yang dilakukan selama kurun waktu satu bulan di Divisi Applied Research Krakatau Steel, serta ditunjang oleh data sekunder melalui studi pustaka dan dokumen-dokumen resmi PT Krakatau Steel.

PT Krakatau Steel as an integrated steel company that is trying to grow and develop into the leading company in the world has a corporate culture that used to serve as guidelines for employees to act in the company. Culture company owned by PT Krakatau Steel is CIRI (Competence, Integrity, Reliable, Innovative). CIRI used by the company, one of which is a business strategy to realize the vision of the company. This Research focuses on the application of cultural values ​​CIRI by Applied Research Division employees. This study discusses in ethnographic work culture Division of Applied Research, employee behavior, and the rules that apply in it. The method used in this study is a qualitative method to conduct in-depth interviews of the informants, and participant observation were conducted over a period of one month in the Division of Applied Research Krakatau Steel, and supported by secondary data through literature and official documents of PT Krakatau Steel.

"ABSTRACT
Dalam memperkaya penelitian mengenai calling yang mulai berkembang pada awal tahun 2000an, diperlukan sebuah penerapan konsep calling pada sampel penelitian yang lebih beragam untuk memperdalam mengenai konsep calling. Oleh sebab itu, pada penelitian ini akan dibahas mengenai pengaruh living calling terhadap job satisfaction pada sampel penelitian 222 orang generasi milenial Indonesia yang berdomisili di Jabodetabek Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, dan Bekasi. Menggunakan structural equation modelling, penelitian berusaha membuktikan pengaruh living calling terhadap job satisfaction melalui variabel work meaning dan career commitment. Hasil temuan membuktikan bahwa work meaning berperan sebagai mediasi parsial pada pengaruh living calling terhadap job satisfaction, sedangkan career commitment tidak berperan sebagai mediasi dan tidak memiliki signifikansi pengaruh pada job satisfaction; namun, pengaruh antara living calling terhadap job satisfaction tidak dapat diragukan. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa living calling berperan sebagai faktor penentu akan job satisfaction, dan ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep calling diterima oleh generasi milenial Indonesia meski memiliki latar belakang budaya non-barat dan non-kristiani. Implikasi manajerial pada penelitian dijelaskan secara mendalam.

ABSTRACT
Recent research of calling has pointed the importance of apply the concept in more diverse group to enrich the concept of calling. As the suggestion, the current study examined the relation of living calling to job satisfaction among 222 Indonesian millennials workers who lived in Jabodetabek Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. Using structural equation modelling, this paper trying to find the relationship of living calling to job satisfaction through mediation of work meaning and career commitment. Work meaning was found partially mediate the relationship of living calling to job satisfaction, while career commitment doesnt act as mediation and didnt have significant effect to job satisfaction however, the relationship between living calling and job satisfaction cannot be doubted. These results suggest the importance of living calling as a determination factor of job satisfaction, and it may applicable in Indonesian Millennials as the concept of calling profound in Indonesian Millennials although having non western and non Christian background. Implication for research and practice are explored."
