"This book explores how two primary school teachers, identified as effective practitioners, approached science teaching and learning over a unit of work. In recording the teaching and learning experiences in their classrooms, the author highlights how the two teachers adopted different approaches, drawing on their particular beliefs and knowledge, to support student learning in science in ways that were appropriate to their contexts as well as reflected their different experiences, strengths and backgrounds. Through sharing their stories, this book illustrates, that due to the complex nature of teaching and learning, there is no one way of defining effectiveness. In documenting this research, it is hoped that other teachers and teacher educators will be inspired to think about primary school science education in innovative ways."

ABSTRAK symmetry groups play an important role in tiling theory. Certain classes of tilings are studied and characterized based on the symmetries they contain. moreover, the construction of symmetrically colored riling, which is a problem addressed in color symmetry, relies on the symmetry groups of the corresponding uncolored tiling. in this paper, an approach is provided to determine the symmetry groups of a particular class of tilings in the plane, called semi-regular tilings."

"This study aimed to demonstrate class switch recombination (CSR) in heavy chain expressing immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgE in human B cells (CD20+CD27-) were cultured with crude P. falciparum antigen (cPfAg) and anti-CD40. on day 4 post-exposure, total RNA from B cells was prepared and the occurance of CSR from IgM to IgG and/or IgE was investigated by reverse transciption-polymerase chain reaction. Molecular markers to detect active CSR included enzyme activation-induced cytidine deaminase mRNA, y and e-germline transcripts (y,e-GLT), circle transcript (CT) and mature transcript (y and e-mRNA) expression. On day 7 and day 14 after exposure, levels of Igs in the culture supernatant were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Our findings showed that we could demonstrate cPfAg-stimulated B cells undergoing CSR by use of the expressed CSR markers and the increase in spesific IgG and IgE indicating the potential of this approach in the study of CSR in P. falciparum stimulated B cells. "This book presents an international perspective on health education and specifically the influence that context has on this aspect of education. The focus includes both formal and non-formal health education and the factors that impact upon its effectiveness, particularly in non-Western and non-English-speaking contexts (i.e., outside the UK, USA, Australia, NZ, etc.). An important feature of the book is that it draws upon the experiences and research of local experts, representing the perspectives of an extremely diverse cohort across the world (22 countries and 2 regions in total). The book addresses topics such as, the development and implementation of health education in different countries, the influence of political, cultural, societal or religious mores, governmental or ministerial drives, economic or other pressures driving curriculum reform, and the influence of external assessment regimes on health education. This book highlights both barriers and enablers to improving health education across the globe. "
