"Infeksi soil-transmitted helminths STH di Indonesia masih tinggi terutama di daerah miskin, berpendidikan rendah, dan higiene buruk seperti di Desa Pero Konda, Sumba Barat Daya. Sayangnya, Desa Pero Konda tidak pernah mendapatkan survey prevalensi serta program pemberantasan STH dari puskesmas setempat. Untuk memberantas STH di daerah berisiko tinggi, WHO menganjurkan albendazol 400mg dosis tunggal untuk pengobatan masal. Meski demikian angka kesembuhan STH setelah pemberian albendazol 400mg bervariasi di tiap-tiap daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian albendazol dosis tunggal 400mg terhadap prevalensi STH di Desa Pero Konda. Penelitian eksperimental semu ini menggunakan desain pre-post study. Subjek diwawancara dan dilakukan pemeriksaan feses sebelum dan sesudah pemberian albendazol 400mg dosis tunggal. Pengambilan data sebelum pemberian albendazol dilakukan pada bulan Agustus 2015. Evaluasi dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2016. Hasil penelitian menunjukan prevalensi Ascaris lumbricoides menurun signifikan

Soil transmitted helminthes STH infection prevalence is high in Indonesia rsquo s low educated and deprived area with poor hygiene like Pero Konda Village, South West Sumba District. Unfortunately, local community health center had never conducted STH prevalence survey and elimination program in Pero Konda Village. To eliminate STH in high risk area, WHO recommends the use of single dose albendazole 400mg mass treatment. However, the cure rate after single dose albendazole 400mg treatment varies from one place to another. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of single dose albendazole 400mg treatment towards STH infection in Pero Konda Village. This study was a quasi experimental with pre post design. Subjects were interviewed and their feces were collected before and after treatment with single dose albendazole 400mg. Pre treatment data collection and treatment were done on August 2015 and the post treatment data collection was conducted on January 2016. STH infections were assessed using fecal examination with light microscope. Result showed that Ascaris lumbricoides infection significantly."

"Albendazol 400mg dosis tunggal adalah antelmintik yang direkomendasikan WHO untuk memberantas STH, namun obat tersebut hanya efektif untuk memberantas Ascaris lumbricoides dan tidak efektif terhadap trikuriasis sehingga dosis perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas albendazol 400mg triple dose dalam pengobatan infeksi cacing usus pada anak berusia 1-15 tahun di desa Perobatang, Sumba Barat Daya. Desain penelitian adalah pre-post study. Data diambil dua kali, yaitu pada 12 Juli 2016 dan 26 Juli 2016. Orang tua subjek/subjek diminta untuk mengumpulkan feses, kemudian dibuat sediaan kato katz dan sampel feses diperiksa secara mikroskopis. Subjek yang positif diberikan albendazol triple dose dan sampel feses diperiksa kembali untuk mengetahui cure rate CR dan egg reduction rate ERR dua minggu setelah intervensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 246 sampel, didapatkan 192 anak 78 positif STH dan turun menjadi 66 anak 27 setelah intervensi. Pengobatan albendazol triple dose efektif untuk mengobati infeksi cacing tambang sebanyak 24 anak yang terinfeksi cacing tambang seluruhnya sembuh dan A.lumbricoides CR = 97 ; ERR = 100 , tetapi kurang efektif untuk infeksi T.trichiura CR=61 dan ERR= 91 . Meskipun demikian, rerata hitung telur T.trichiura sebelum dan dua minggu setelah pengobatan menurun secara bermakna uji Wilcoxon.

Single dose albendazole 400 mg is an anthelmintic which is recommended by WHO to eliminate the STH infection. However, it is only effective to eliminate Ascaris lumbricoides, but ineffective against trichuriasis thus, the dosage needs to be increased. This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of triple dose albendazole 400mg in eliminating the intestinal helminth infections on children aged 1 ndash 15 years in Perobatang village, Southwest Sumba. This study was designed as a pre post study. Data were collected twice on 12th July 2016 and 26th July 2016. Subjects or their parents were asked to collect the stool, then the stool samples were examined using the Kato Katz method for microscopic examination. Subjects infected with STH were given albendazole triple dose and their stool samples were collected again to determine the cure rate CR and egg reduction rate ERR at 2 week post treatment. As much as 246 subjects were conducted, 192 of them 78 were positive with STH infections and decrease to 66 subjects 27 after treatment. Treatment with albendazole triple dose was effective against hookworm all the 24 samples with hookworm infection was entirely cured and A. lumbricoides CR 97 ERR 99.98 , while albendazole triple dose was still ineffective against T.trichiura CR 61 and ERR 90.87 although the wilcoxon test for T.trichiura showed a significant reduction egg count epg before and 2 week after treatment p 0.001 . Overall, the infection rate at 2 week after treatment decreased significantly McNemar test, p 0,001 . It can be concluded that the triple dose albendazole 400mg is effective against ascariasis, but ineffective against trichuriasis. Further research is required to adjust the dosage or to consider using another anthelmintic to enhance the effectiveness in eliminating trichuriasis."

"Efektifitas ECCT Electrical Capacitive Cancer Tomography untuk terapi kanker paru diselidiki dalam penelitian ini ECCT merupakan teknik terapi kanker menggunakan medan listrik statis dengan frekuensi 100 kHz dari sumber arus listrik bolak balik. ECCT menggunakan tegangan input 3V dan menghasilkan tegangan output 20 Vpp Rekonstruksi citra 2D dilakukan menggunakan software MATLAB R2009a Simulasi dilakukan berdasarkan metode elemen berhingga dengan menggunakan software COMSOL Multiphysics 3 5 untuk mengetahui besar nilai medan listrik yang efektif untuk terapi kanker paru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alat ECCT efektif pada daerah permukaan kanker paru paru karena terjadi peningkatan rasio permitivitas yang signifikan pada daerah interface antara 2 medium dan dipengaruhi juga oleh perubahan frekuensi dan tegangan. Sehingga pembunuhan sel kanker paru dapat dimulai dari permukaan Kata kunci ECCT medan listrik frekuensi tegangan kanker paru.

In this study the effectiveness of Electrical Capacitive Cancer Treatment ECCT in lung cancer therapy is being investigated ECCT is a technique of cancer treatment that uses electrostatic field from an AC current source with a frequency 100 kHz ECCT produces an AC output voltage of 20 Vpp from a DC input voltage of 3V 2D image reconstruction is done using MATLAB R2009a software. The simulation is carried out based on finite element method FEM using COMSOL Multyphysics 3 5 software to determine the optimal amount of electrical field for an effective lung cancer treatment. The simulation results show that ECCT device is effective at the surface area of lung cancer due to the significant increase of permittivity ratio at the interface between 2 medium and the change of frequency and voltage. So the killing of lung cancer cell can start from the surface of tissue Key words ECCT electric field frequency voltage lung cancer."

"ABSTRAK
Rifampicin (RIF) adalah obat lini pertama untuk terapi tuberkulosis (TB) dengan kemampuan bakterisidal yang tinggi terhadap M. tuberculosis. Akan tetapi, kasus resistensi terhadap RIF telah menurunkan efektivitas terapi menggunakan obat ini. Multi-drug resistance TB (MDR/RR-TB) adalah tipe resistensi yang paling umum ditemukan pada galur MTB. Penggunaan obat berbasis peptida siklis telah banyak diminati karena peptida memiliki properti farmakologi yang baik, dan selektif. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menemukan kandidat senyawa peptida siklik yang potensial sebagai inhibitor protein RNA polimerase subunit β (RpoB) mutan S531L sebagai mutan dengan prevalensi tinggi pada MDR-TB. Struktur 3 dimensi dari RpoB wild type dan mutan S531L diunduh melalui basis data Protein Data Bank, dioptimisasi, dan dibandingkan karakteristik hidrofobisitas permukaannya untuk menentukan sekuens dari peptida siklis. Kemudian, basis data ligan peptida siklis dibuat dengan menggunakan generator kombinasi dan penggambaran. Optimisasi, kalkulasi muatan parsial dan minimisasi energi dilakukan pada basis data ligan, dan proses penapisan dilakukan dengan simulasi penambatan molekul. Simulasi ini dilakukan dengan dua tahapan rigid dan fleksibel terhadap struktur S531L RpoB, untuk menemukan ligan peptida siklis dengan interaksi paling baik dengan protein ini.  Simulasi ini menghasilkan 5 ligan terbaik dengan nilai energi bebas Gibbs terendah terhadap S531L RpoB. Ligan terpilih diprediksi sifat farmakologinya secara komputasi, dan menghasilkan 3 ligan (CYYEWC, CWYEGC, dan CQQNWC) yang memiliki karakter absorpsi, distribusi, metabolism, ekskresi, dan toksisitas yang sesuai. Ketiga ligan ini divalidasi interaksinya dengan menggunakan simulasi dinamika molekul, dan menunjukkan stabilitas interaksi yang baik sebagai kandidat obat untuk terapi MDR-TB.

ABSTRACT
Rifampicin is the first line drug for tuberculosis (TB) treatment with high bactericidal activity towards M. tuberculosis. However, the rifampicin efficacy in TB treatment has been decreased steadily due to the emerging drug resistance cases. Among all types of the rifampicin resistance, MDR-TB is the most common resistance found in the MTB strain. Cyclic peptide therapeutics shows a significant success in the industry, since they possess a favorable pharmacological property. This study aimed to find the most potent cyclic peptide inhibitor for S531L RpoB protein for MDR/RR-TB treatment. Cyclic hexapeptide ligand database was built according to the binding site of the S531L RNA polymerase subunit β (RpoB) protein, the main mutation of the rifampicin target. The 3-dimension structure of RpoB wild type and mutant S531L were retrieved from the Protein Data Bank and optimized. Both of wild type and S531L binding site were compared based on their surface hydrophobicity to determine the cyclic peptide sequences in the ligand database. After the ligand database was built with combination generator and drawing, optimization, partial charge calculation and energy minimization were done. This database underwent two steps molecular docking simulation (rigid and flexible) against the S531L RpoB to find the cyclic peptide with best interaction towards this protein. The simulation resulted in 5 best ligands with the lowest value of Gibbs free energy binding to S531L RpoB. The selected ligands were subjected to the computational pharmacological properties prediction using several tools and resulted in three cyclic peptides (CYYEWC, CWYEGC and CQQNWC) with favorable interaction and ADME-Tox properties as MDR-TB drug candidate."

"ABSTRACT
The study was conducted to investigate whether the intestinal helminthiasis influence the acute phase response (APR), nutritional status and iron status, and the impact of anthelminthic treatment on the APR and iron status among school children 8 - 11 years old in SD 01 and 02 Papanggo, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. The prevalence of helminthiasis among these children was regarding to Ascaris lumbricoides 81.6 %, T richuris Trichiura 88.3 % and mixed infection A.lumbricoides and T : trichiura 70 %. Of 120 children enrolled in this study, 59 children received a single 400 mg dose Albendazole, 61 children received placebo.
The design of this study was a cross sectional association study combined with a randomized, doubly-masked, community intervention trial. At the beginning of the study, anthropometric measurements were taken. In addition, stool samples, plasma iron, hemoglobin, C-reactive protein (CRP), White Blood Cell (WBC), Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), Interleukin-1 (IL-I), Interleuldn-6 (IL-6) and Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) concentrations were determined prior to the interventions and 10 days after.
The children with Z-score of WFA, WFH and FIFA less than -2 were 24,2 %, 6,7 % and 19.2 %, respectively. Of 30 % of the subjects were anemic (Hb <12 g /dl) and 21.6 % had plasma iron levels below normal (male < 59 µg/dl, female < 37µg/dl).
CRP,IL-1,IL-6 and TNF showed normal values in both groups before and 10 days after treatment. ESR was significantly increased in both groups 10 days after treatment. Within group increases in WBC count was significant only in the treatment group.
Plasma iron concentration was significantly increased in the treatment group (P = < 0.05) whereas it was significantly decreased in the placebo group (P = < 0.05). Increases in hemoglobin level in the treatment group and the decrease in the control group were no statistically significant.
This study concluded that the APR were normal during the intestinal helminthiasis and the intensity of infection were not proportional with the APR level, The helminth treatment with single 400 mg dose of Albendazole has not only a significant effect on decreasing worm burden but also a rise in plasma iron."
