"Cockpit video merupakan salah satu jenis video yang beredar di platform YouTube. Selain menjadi hiburan pagi penggemar dunia aviasi, cockpit video juga dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai situasi di ruang kemudi pesawat dan bagaimana para pilot berkomunikasi serta menerbangkan pesawat. Salah satu media yang telah membuat banyak cockpit video dalam format dokuseri adalah PilotsEYE.tv. Sebagai media asal Jerman, kehadiran takarir berbahasa Inggris dapat memperluas jangkauan penonton, berhubung orang-orang yang ada pada video hampir setiap saat berbicara dalam bahasa Jerman. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menemukan strategi yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam mengalihbahasakan ujaran orang-orang pada salah satu video potongan dari dokuseri buatan PilotsEYE.tv. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori dari Gottlieb (1992) mengenai 10 strategi subtitling dan teori Newmark (1988) mengenai couplets, triplets, dan quadruplets. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerjemah menggunakan 9 dari 10 strategi subtitling yang dirumuskan Gottlieb. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menemukan adanya penggunaan couplets dan triplets, yaitu penggunaan dua hingga tiga strategi dalam satu telop.

Cockpit video is a type of video which can be seen on YouTube. Apart from being an entertainment for aviation enthusiasts, a cockpit video can also be educative in the sense that it provides an overview of the situation in an aircraft's flight deck and how pilots communicate and fly the aircraft. One media company that has made many cockpit videos in docuseries format is PilotsEYE.tv. As a German media company, the people in the videos produced by PilotsEYE.tv speak mostly in German. An English subtitle is therefore needed to expand the audience. This research analyzes the strategies used in translating the speech of the people in one of the video clips from the documentary made by PilotsEYE.tv. In doing so, a subtitling strategy theory proposed by Gottlieb (1992) and Newmark’s (1988) concept of couplets, triplets, and quadruplets are used to analyze the data. The results of this study show that 9 out of 10 subtitling strategies proposed by Gottlieb were used by the translator. This study also found the use of couplets and triplets, which is the use of two or three subtitling strategies in translating a text."
