"ABSTRAKCat air merupakan salah satu media lukis yang digunakan dalam menghasilkan gambar. Keragaman efek yang ditimbulkan oleh cat air dapat memicu pengembangan ide dalam proses perancangan arsitektur. Representasi media cat air merangsang indera manusia sehingga membentuk persepsi terhadap elemen desain dasar arsitektur dalam proses menggambar gambar konsep. Pembahasan gambar cat air menggunakan sketsa konsep cat air arsitek Steven Holl dalam pencarian forma bangunannya. Melalui metode pembacaan gambar sketsa, ditemukan karakteristik serta efek cat air yang digunakan Steven Holl dalam membantu proses perancangannya.

ABSTRACTWatercolor is one of painting media used in drawing practice. The diversity of effect caused by watercolor can lead to the development of ideas in the architectural design process. The media representation of watercolor stimulates the human senses in forming perception towards architectural design elements in design drawings. The discussion of watercolor painting uses Steven Holl rsquo s watercolor design concept in development of building form. Through the method of reading the sketch drawings, this paper shows the characteristics and effects of watercolor used by Steven Holl in the design process."
