"Tesis ini membahas tentang pengembangan Pusat Informasi Kawasan Percandian Muarajambi sebagai sebuah museum situs yang merupakan salah satu jenis museum yang berlandaskan pada paradigma new museology. Lokasi penelitian di Kawasan Muarajambi, Kabupaten Muarojambi, Provinsi Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini dapat merumuskan suatu konsep museum situs dalam rangka pengembangan Pusat Informasi Kawasan Percandian Muarajambi sebagai museum situs yang sesuai dengan kaidah permuseuman dan konsep new museology. Selain itu pengembangan pusat informasi ini menjadi sebuah museum situs dapat menjadi sarana yang baik untuk penyebarluasan informasi, penelitian, pendidikan dan rekreasi. Pada dasarnya museum situs merupakan sebuah museum yang disusun dan dibentuk untuk melindungi tinggalan alam dan budaya, bergerak dan tidak bergerak, di situs aslinya, yaitu dilestarikan di tempat di mana tinggalan tersebut telah dibuat atau ditemukan. Eksibisi di dalam museum situs merupakan salah satu cara dalam mengomunikasikan hasil penelitian di situs. Interpretasi antara koleksi dan lingkungan situs diintegrasikan dalam sebuah tata pamer. Selain melalui eksibisi, proses komunikasi di museum situs dapat juga dilakukan dengan program publik dan edukasi.

This thesis research the development of the Information Center of Muarajambi Region as a site museum, which is a kind of museum that is based on the paradigm of the new museology. Locations of the research in the Muarajambi Region, Muarojambi District, Jambi Province. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The results of this study can formulate a concept of the site museum in order to develop Information Center of Muarajambi Region as a museum site in accordance with the rules of the museum and the concept of new museology. In addition, the development of the information center into a museum site can be as media for the dissemination of information, research, education and recreation. In essence, the site museum is a museum conceived and set up in order to protect natural or cultural property, moveable and immoveable, on its original site, that is, preserved at the place where such property has been created or discovered. Exhibition at the site museum is a kind in communicating the results of research on the site. Interpretation of the collections and the site are integrated in a theme exhibition layout. Communication process in the site museum can also carried out with public and educational programs."

"Tesis ini membahas tentang konsep edukasi di Museum Fauna Indonesia Komodo Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah". Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bersifat deskriftif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Bagaimana mengembangkan konsep edukasi melalui penerapan museologi baru yang didasarkan kepada teori edukasi konstruktivis. Konsep ini belum pernah diaplikasikan di MFIK & TR. Di era museum baru teori konstruktivis dapat diterapkan karena kini museum tidak hanya berperan sebagai sumber pengetahuan tetapi berkembang menjadi fasilitator dalam proses pembelajaran bagi semua pengunjungnya. Konsep pembelajaran konstruktivis akan membangun pengetahuan dan pemahaman pengunjung dari berbagai sudut pandang yang berbeda.

This thesis discusses the concept of education in Komodo Indonesian Fauna Museum and Reptile Park Taman Mini "Indonesia Indah". This research is a descriptive study with qualitative approach. How to develop a concept of education through the implementation of new museology is based on constructivist educational theory. This concept has never been applied in MFIK & TR. In the era of the new museum constructivist theory can be applied because the museum is now not only serves as a source of knowledge but it evolve into a facilitator in the learning process for all of its visitors. Constructivist learning concept will build knowledge and understanding for visitors from various different viewpoints."

"[ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi nilai ekonomi wisata budaya Museum Majapahit dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi jumlah kunjungan ke Museum Majapahit. Penilaian ekonomi terhadap Museum Majapahit ini menggunakan data primer hasil survei terhadap 181 pengunjung dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan Travel Cost Method (TCM) untuk mengestimasi willingness to pay (WTP) dan valuasi ekonomi. Dengan menggunakan metode regresi Ordinary Least Square (OLS) dan Poisson Regression (PR), hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai ekonomi wisata budaya Museum Majapahit mempunyai potensi nilai sebesar Rp. 92.045.361,- (pada OLS) dan Rp. 174.943.226,- (pada PR) apabila WTP pengunjung yaitu Rp. 2.046,18,- (pada OLS) dan Rp. 3.889,01,- (pada PR). Namun, tiket masuk yang diterapkan saat ini adalah Rp. 5.000,-. sehingga, WTP berada dibawah tarif resmi. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kunjungan wisatawan adalah biaya perjalanan, zona, dan lokasi substitusi. Rekomendasi yang diberikan sebaiknya untuk beberapa tahun ke depan tiket masuk museum tidak dinaikkan.

"Tesis ini membahas tentang konsep tematik pameran museum kota berdasarkan konsep museum kota. Studi kasus yang digunakan adalah Museum Kota Makassar di Makassar sebagai satu-satunya museum dengan nomenklatur yang tepat sebagai museum kota. Konsep museum kota khususnya yang berkaitan dengan penyajian pameran adalah menampilkan tema-tema tentang pertumbuhan kota berdasarkan aspek fisik dan sosial, tidak hanya konteks masa lalu tetapi juga konteks kontemporer. Dengan demikian, dilakukan evaluasi terhadap Museum Kota Makassar khususnya tentang pameran yang ditampilkan. Berdasarkan konsep tematik pameran museum kota yang diperoleh dan hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan maka diperlukan karakteristik pertumbuhan Kota Makassar. Hasil dari sintesa terhadap konsep tematik pameran dan karakteristik pertumbuhan kota maka diperoleh sebuah konstruksi baru tentang pameran Museum Kota Makassar. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan peran Museum Kota Makassar dalam memberikan pengetahuan dan pengalaman baru kepada masyarakat.

This thesis discussed about thematic concept of city museum displays based on the concept of city museum. Case study which is used is Kota Makassar Museum in Makassar as the only museum with the appropriate nomenclature as city museum. The concept of city museum especially related to present an exhibition is to display some themes about the growth of the city based on physical and social aspect, not only the past context but also contemporary context. Thus, evaluation to Kota Makassar Museum has been done especially about the exhibition that is displayed. Based on thematic concept of city museum, which is obtained and got result from the evaluation, characteristic of Makassar city?s growth is needed. The result of synthesis toward thematic concept of exhibition and city?s growth characteristic then obtains a new construction about exhibition of Makassar City museum. It intends to develop the role of Kota Makassar Museum in giving knowledge and new experience to society."
