"Di era posmodern saat ini terjadi perubahan sosiokultural yang diiringi oleh tuntutan perubahan etikopolitik. Perubahan sosiokultural dengan berbagai faktornya membuat perbedaan di era posmodern saat ini menjadi sesuatu yang radikal yang kehadirannya tidak dapat dipungkiri. Radikalitas perbedaan membuat perbedaan-perbedaan itu bukan lagi sebuah konsep abstrak tetapi merupakan faktisitas keragaman yang riil yang ada di dalam masyarakat posmodern saat ini. Radikalitas perbedaan tersebut juga membuat setiap individu tidak dapat terjembatani menjadi sebuah keutuhan yang seragam. Hal ini dapat berujung pada relativisme moral bahkan nihilisme. Di sinilah persoalan etikopolitik di era posmodern. Namun demikian, masih ada celah kesempatan di era posmodern saat ini untuk membentuk tatanan koeksistensial sebagai pra syarat pembentukan politik. Melalui pemikiran etika politik Zygmunt Bauman, akan dijelaskan upaya sekaligus landasan etis terbaik bagi politik di era posmodern.
