"Tuntutan tugas Bintara Pembina Desa (Babinsa) semakin tinggi dari pimpinan TNI AD. Tugas seorang Babinsa di wilayah perkotaan semakin kompleks, karena karakteristik masyarakatnya yang individualistik, heterogen dan sangat dinamis. Dikaitkan dengan lima kemampuan teritorial yang harus dimiliki oleh Babinsa, ditemukan bahwa kemampuan Babinsa tergolong rendah pada dimensi kemampuan temu cepat lapor cepat di tiga Komando Rayon Militer (Koramil) wilayah kota Bandung, khususnya kemampuan analisis sosial. Dalam jangka pendek, pengembangan kemampuan analisis sosial terhadap Babinsa adalah dengan memberikan kesadaran terhadap setting sosial. Strategi intervensi yang diterapkan adalah teknik appreciative inquiry dan pelatihan, yang direncanakan selama dua jam dalam waktu enam hari kerja. Intervensi dilakukan pada Babinsa di Koramil ?X? sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan terdapat kelompok Babinsa yang menjadi kelompok kontrol. Pengukuran dampak perubahan dari intervensi menggunakan kuesioner pra dan paska pelatihan yang dilakukan sebelum intervensi dan seminggu setelah intervensi pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Selain itu dilakukan pula pengukuran secara kualitatif berupa wawancara dan focus group discussion. Berdasarkan analisis statistik uji nilai t dengan membandingkan rata-rata dari kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perubahan yang signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen terkait kesadaran Babinsa terhadap perannya dalam setting sosial. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan analisis dampak penerapan program intervensi sejenis terhadap kelompok Babinsa lain diketahui bahwa program intervensi tersebut diprediksi secara signifikan akan memiliki dampak yang besar bila diterapkan pada kelompok Babinsa lainnya yang berada dalam wilayah perkotaan.

Banyak indidvidu yang telah mengkritik bagaimana genre ini nampak menyepelekan peperangan dan menglorifikasikan kekerasan dalam sebuah konteks militer. Dalam rangka mengeksplorasi bagaimana salah satu pengembang video game mengkritik dan mengomentari genre ini dengan karya mereka sendiri, artikel ini akan meneliti Spec Ops: The Line, sebuah tanggapan dekonstruktif terhadap genre modern military shooter yang dikembangkan oleh Yager Development pada tahun 2012. Artikel ini akan secara utama menganalisis bagaimana perkembangan dari protagonis sekaligus player character permainan tersebut, yaitu Kapt. Modern Military Shooter games have become one of the staple genres of video games, and as the name implies, involves the player in the role of military members, typically a soldier as the main protagonist. These games typically contain a narrative plot which involves the player as the protagonist typically shooting down a large number of enemy combatants, many have critiqued the genre’s perceived trivialization of warfare and glorification of violence in a military context. To explore how one particular video game developer criticizes and their commentary of the genre with their own work, this article will examine Spec Ops: The Line, a deconstructive take on the Modern Military Shooter genre developed in 2012 by Yager Development. The article primarily examines the game’s player character and protagonist, Capt. Martin Walker, and how his character’s progression within the game’s story provides a commentary on the Military Shooter genre, and also how this character deconstructs the concept of heroes in fiction. Ultimately, the writer concludes that the game’s story and Capt. Walker’s actions within it as the protagonist, deconstruct many of the known conventions of the “Hero” concept in fiction, and also provides commentary on how depictions of warfare are rarely done without glorifying violence by analyzing how Spec Ops: The Line conducts its depiction of warfare as for entertainment in a different light."
