"George Orwell 1903-1933-1950 Tulent is judged in different ways in different times. Hisconteporaries did not think much of George Orwell, because he was , they said fish nor meat. His writings were, not of any value for the right neither for the, Left. Re-evaluaions of his works in magazines like the Illustrated London News','The Listener','Guardian Weekly', 'Sunday Time'.,'Time','Newsweek' have brought him in the limelight recently. The following data are collected from clippings from magazines found at, random, besides fro the only biography available in Djakarta, 'Tom Hopkinson's pamflet on Orwell written for the British Council. The Man Eric Blair, born at Motihari Bengal, in 1903, was the son of a miner official in the Indian Customs who retired on a small pension when his son was a few years old.(1912) Where were also two daughters, one older and one younger than the boy. Richard Blair, who died at the age of 82 at Southwold,Suffolk, was remombered by his son, who disliked him, as a gruff-voiced elderly man forever saying''don't.Ida Blair, his wife, was the only person Eric loved, yet he was too shy to trust her hisreal feelings. This may accout for the loneliness, the cut-off-fro others' feeling that has haunted him his wole life.Eric Blair becameGeorge Orwell in 1933 on publication of his book'Down and out in Paris and London'. He was very classcoscious and with typical precision he classified his family as lower-upper-middle-class_."

"Arguably the most influential political writer of the twentieth century, George Orwell remains a crucial voice for our times. Known world-wide for his two best-selling masterpieces Nineteen Eighty-Four, a gripping portrait of a dystopian future, and Animal Farm, a brilliant satire on the Russian Revolution, Orwell has been revered as an essayist, journalist and literary-political intellectual, and his works have exerted a powerful international impact on the post-World War Two era. This Introduction examines Orwell's life, work and legacy, addressing his towering achievement and his ongoing appeal. Combining important biographical detail with close analysis of his writings, the book considers the various genres in which Orwell wrote: the realistic novel, the essay, journalism and the anti-utopia. Ideally suited for readers approaching Orwell's work for the first time, the book concludes with an extended reflection on why George Orwell has enjoyed a literary afterlife unprecedented among modern authors in any language."

Nineteen Eighty-Four is one of the best works by the famous English writer, George Orwell. The novel pictures a horrible living condition created by a totalitarian authority. This authority controls members of the society in every aspects of their life, including sexuality.
By applying Foucault's theory on discourses, it is seen how sexuality are formed and used by the authority to control the society. Foucault's theory is used to analyze the power relation occurred in the discourses. The authority created a certain way of saying about the people's sexuality. According to the government, sexuality is permitted only as a way of servitude. The authority created a negative sexuality in the low class society called proles. They created this to strengthen the positive image of their sexuality. Winston Smith, the lead character in the novel, rejected this positive image of sexuality by making a secret relationship with Julia.
Through tone analysis, we can see a pessimist tone in Winston's rebellion. The pessimist tone is seen in the way Winston presented, the authority presented, and the contrast between what he expected to what he got in the end.
