"Kemajuan teknologi saat ini telah mempengaruhi banyak aspek kehidupan, di mana jutaan orang saat ini menggunakan berbagai perangkat elektronik. Namun, dengan semakin majunya teknologi peralatan listrik, kebutuhan akan kualitas daya yang baik tidak dapat diabaikan lagi. Salah satu masalah kualitas daya adalah distorsi harmonik, yang dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada sistem daya jika melampaui batas tertentu.Perumahan merupakan salah satu beban yang banyak berkontribusi terhadap terjadinya pencemaran harmonisa dalam sistem tenaga listrik. Alasannya adalah karena banyaknya beban non linier yang digunakan seperti lampu hemat energi, kulkas, AC, komputer, televisi dan sebagainya. Dalam penelitian ini, nilai TDD adalah dari suatu sistem listrik perumahan adalah 15,54 sebagai hasil penggunaan beban non linier, sedangkan menurut standar IEEE 519-1992 seharusnya nilai TDD lebih rendah dari 15 . Filter single-tuned yang diterapkan pada sistem akan mengurangi nilai TDD menjadi 14,16 , yang berada di bawah batasan standar yang berarti bahwa harmonisa terjadi pada sistem dikurangi ke tingkat yang tepat.

The advancement of technology today has affected many aspects of life, in which millions of people at the moment used various electronic devices. However, as electronic devices get modernized, the requirement for a good power quality cannot be neglected anymore. One of power quality problems is harmonic distortion, which might cause damage to the power system if it surpassed a certain limits.Household and commercial residence apparently contributes a lot to the occurrence of harmonic pollution in a power system. The reason is due to the amount of non linear load being used such as energy saving lamp, refrigerator, air conditioner, computer, television and many others. In this research, the value of TDD is 15.54 as the result of the application of non linear load, while according to IEEE 519 1992 standard it is supposed to be lower than 15 . Single tuned filter applied to the system manage to reduce the TDD value to be 14.16 , which is below the standard limitation meaning that the harmonics occurs on the system is reduced to a proper level."
