"Penelitian ini membahas tentang perkembangan otomotif di Indonesia dan alih teknologi yang dilakukan oleh Mitsubishi. Sejak masa pemerintahan Soekarno sampai dengan Soeharto, Indonesia memiliki satu obsesi, yakni memproduksi mobil secara lokal. Indonesia pada saat itu tidak memiliki teknologi yang dapat menciptakan mobil, salah satu cara untuk medapatkan teknologi tersebut adalah dengan melakukan alih teknologi. Sampai pada tahun 1970, ketika Mitsubishi masuk ke Indonesia, dan mendirikan pabrik pertama mereka di sini. Dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa selama Mitsubishi ada di Indonesia, secara tidak langsung telah berperan penting dalam meningkatkan teknologi di Indonesia, walaupun belum seperti yang kita harapkan.

This study discusses about the development of automotive and technology transfer done by Mitsubishi in Indonesia. Since Soekarno until Soeharto's reign, Indonesia had one obsession which is to produce cars locally. But at that time, Indonesia did not have the technology to build a car. Thus, the way to get the technology was by doing the technology transfer until 1970 when Mitsubishi first entered Indonesia and established their first factory here. The results of this study show that during that time, Mitsubishi had an important role to improve technology in Indonesia. Even though it wasn't like what we expected."

Memimpin pasar mobil di kawasan ASEAN dan Asia Tenggara, industri otomotif Indonesia menjadi salah satu pilar penting sektor manufaktur yang memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional. Seiring dengan kehadiran revolusi industri baru, Industri 4.0 telah menciptakan katalis bagi pemerintah Indonesia untuk mendorong pertumbuhan industri manufaktur otomotif dalam meningkatkan kontribusinya pada pertumbuhan ekonomi lebih lanjut. Namun, kompleksitas proses yang terdapat di industri manufaktur otomotif telah menimbulkan pertanyaan, aspek atau faktor apa yang bisa mempercepat upaya adopsi teknologi Industri 4.0? Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak kebijakan pemerintah Indonesia terhadap upaya akselerasi adopsi teknologi Industri 4.0 di industri otomotif Indonesia. Eksplorasi kebijakan dilakukan melalui perancangan model konseptual kualitatif, yang dikembangkan dengan pendekatan pemodelan sistem dinamis, untuk memberikan pemahaman tentang dinamika hubungan antara faktor-faktor yang terlibat di dalam penciptaan ekosistem Industri 4.0 di Indonesia.

Leading the car market in ASEAN and Southeast Asia region, the Indonesian automotive industry is being considered as one of the manufacturing sector important pillars that significantly contributes to national economic growth. Along with the presence of the next wave industrial revolution, Industry 4.0 creates the catalyst for the Indonesian government to stimulate the growth of the automotive manufacturing industry to boost its contribution on further national economic growth. However, the complexity or process that exists in automotive manufacturing industry has raised a question, what aspects or factors that could accelerate the Industry 4.0 technology adoption process? Hence, this research aims to explore the policy impact towards the growth of Industry 4.0 technology adoption in Indonesian automotive industry. The policy exploration will be done through a qualitative conceptual model, developed within system dynamics modeling approach, to provide an understanding of the relationship dynamics between factors included in the fourth industrial ecosystem creation in Indonesia.
