"The Serat Tiyang Gegriya or “Book for people on running their homes and households” is a Javanese versification of the famous seventeenth-century Chinese treatise Zhuzi Zhijia geyan (‘Master Zhu’s Household Rules‘), better known in the Anglophone world as “Maxims for managing the home” or “Family regulations”. Propagating the basic principles of Confucian ethics, this small treatise instructed generations of Chinese readers, presumedly adult males, lessons in proper behaviour. Today, Master Zhu’s little compendium is among the most reprinted works of classical Chinese popular literature. The Serat Tiyang Gegriya exists in the form of a manuscript, written in Surabaya in 1878, and was subsequently published ten years later in the same city. The appearance of this popular Confucian tract in Javanese seems to have been born of a perceived sense of crisis and alarm at the decline of “Chineseness” among the Chinese minority in a foreign land, the upshot of the seemingly inexorable process of acculturation taking place in the Sino-Javanese community at the end of the nineteenth century. "Diabetes melitus DM merupakan penyakit metabolisme yang disebabkan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah di atas nilai normal hiperglikemia. Daun lidah mertua Sansevieria trifasciata merupakan tanaman hias yang diduga berpotensi menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada penderita DM karena mengandung zat hipoglikemik, seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, steroid, dan terpenoid. Ekstrak daun lidah mertua dari berbagai jenis pelarut dapat dilihat aktivitas antidiabetesnya melalui uji penghambatan enzim a-glukosidase secara in vitro. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui yield ekstrak kasar daun lidah mertua yang diekstrak dengan metode sonikasi dengan pelarut yang berbeda, yaitu akuades, etanol 70, dan etil asetat 70 mengetahui persen penghambatan dan nilai konsentrasi inhibisi IC50 ekstrak yang memiliki aktivitas antidiabetes sebagai inhibitor a-glukosidase tertinggi dan mengetahui kandungan senyawa hipoglikemik pada ekstrak dengan persentase inhibisi tertinggi. Dari ketiga jenis pelarut tersebut, diketahui ekstrak etanol 70 memiliki persen penghambatan tertinggi yaitu sebesar 90,716 dengan IC50 4708,713 ppm diikuti oleh ekstrak etil asetat 70 dan akuades dengan persen penghambatan serta IC50 masing-masing 73,167 dan 15161,723 ppm; 7,845 dan IC50 di konsentrasi >50000 ppm tidak terdeteksi. Senyawa hipoglikemik yang diperoleh dari ekstrak etanol 70 diantaranya adalah; steroid kampesterol dengan konsentrasi 17,46, alkaloid piridin dengan konsentrasi 5,51, terpenoid fitol dan sikloeukalenol dengan konsentrasi 1,87 dan 1,13, tokoferol vitamin E dengan konsentrasi 1,03, dan flavonoid isoflavon dengan konsentrasi 0,54. Konsentrasi senyawa yang relatif kecil mempengaruhi kinerjanya dalam menghambat enzim a-glukosidase, sehingga nilai IC50 yang diperoleh terlalu besar dan ekstrak tidak aktif karena nilai IC50 aktif pada konsentrasi < 100 ppm.

Diabetes mellitus DM is a metabolic disease caused by elevated blood glucose levels above normal values hyperglycemia. Mother in laws tongue leaves Sansevieria trifasciata is an ornamental plant that allegedly has the potential to lower blood glucose levels in people with diabetes mellitus DM because it contains hypoglycemic compounds, such as flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, and terpenoids. Mother in laws tongue leaves extract from various types of solvent can detect anti diabetic activity through in vitro inhibition test of glucosidase enzyme. Objective of this research is to obtain the yield of rough extract of the mother in laws tongue leaves extracted by the method of sonication with different solvent, i.e. aquades, 70 ethanol, and 70 ethyl acetate obtain the inhibition percentage and inhibition concentration IC50 from extract which has anti diabetic activity as the highest glucosidase inhibitor and obtain the content of hypoglycemic compounds in extracts that have the highest percentage of inhibition. From all of solvents, its known that 70 ethanol extract has the highest inhibition percentage of 90.716 with IC50 4708,713 ppm followed by 70 ethyl acetate extract and aquades with inhibition percentage and IC50 respectively 73.167 and 15161,723 ppm 7,845 and IC50 undetectable. Hypoglycemic compounds obtained from 70 ethanol extract are steroids campesterol with concentration of 17,46, alkaloids pyridine with concentration 5,51 , terpenoids phytol and cycloeucalenol with concentration 1,87 and 1,13, tocopherol vitamin E with concentration 1,03, and flavonoids isoflavones with concentration 0,54. The relatively small concentrations of compounds affect their performance in inhibiting the enzyme glucosidase, so the IC50 values obtained are too large and the extract is inactive because IC50 values are active at concentrations "
