"Perubahan bentuk jaringan distribusi dari radial menjadi ring mengakibatkan perubahan setting koordinasi rele proteksi. Salah satu akibat perubahan tersebut adalah penggunaan rele arus lebih berarah. Untuk menentukan setting rele arah ini, langkah-langkah yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan studi aliran daya untuk menentukan arus beban maksimum yang melewati rele. Kemudian dilakukan perhitungan arus gangguan hubung singkat untuk menentukan setting arus pada rele. Selanjutnya adalah menentukan arah kerja rele. Skripsi ini akan membahas perancangan sistem koordinasi rele proteksi pada perencanaan jaringan distribusi ring di EMP Malacca Strait dengan menggunakan rele arus lebih berarah. Dari hasil simulasi didapatkan bahwa koordinasi antar rele telah bekerja sesuai dengan kriteria, yaitu waktu kerja antar rele berkisar 0.3 - 0.4 detik.

Changes in the form of radial distribution network into the ring resulted in changes in the coordination of relay protection settings. One result of these changes is the use of directional relay. To determine the directional relay settings, the steps taken is to conduct power flow studies to determine the maximum load current passing through the relay. We then performed a short circuit fault current calculation to determine the current settings on the relay. Further work is to determine the direction of relay.

This thesis will discuss the coordination of relay protection system design on the ring distribution network planning in EMP Malacca Strait by using the directional relay. From the simulation results is found that coordination between the relay has been working in accordance with the criteria, i.e. work time between the relay range 0.3 - 0.4 seconds."
