"Despite its much-touted agenda to fight poverty and corruption, the Aquino administration was not able to produce good results during its term at the national level. However, some political forces and policy reforms that emerged with the administration achieved remarkable change at the local level. This paper explores the case of Siquijor Province, where an entrenched political dynasty was defeated in the 2013 and 2016 elections by candidates supported by the Liberal Party and its allied forces, Akbayan, and analyzes factors that brought this change by focusing on activities of People Power Volunteers for Reform, the impact of bottom-up budgeting projects, and the mobilization of powers of the national government through personal relationships. It also notes achievements of the Aquino administration at the local level, provides a critical perspective to the elite democracy discourse that sticks to a static view of Philippine politics, and clarifies local practices by progressive forces that confront oligarchy."

"Tesis ini membahas mengenai pengaruh Nokyo di dalam kebijakan sektor pertanian di bawah kepemimpinan Shinzo Abe, melalui penggunaan teori kelompok kepentingan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi literatur atau kajian pustaka, studi data resmi yang dipublikasikan oleh kementerian, media masa, dan situs-situs yang terkait langsung dengan objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hubungan di antara LDP dan Nokyo masih sangat kuat terbukti dengan adanya kebijakan penyeimbang yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah. Selain itu, re-organisasi Nokyo tidak melemahkan kebijakan pertanian melainkan lebih menguatkan sektor pertanian dan juga petani.

The purpose of this research is to identify the influence of Nokyo as an interest group on agricultural policy under abe's Cabinet by using interest group theory. As a preliminary study this research employs qualitative method by collecting and analyzing data through literature review and some official data that are published by the media and website related to the reseach project. The result showed that relationship between LDP and Nokyo are still remain strong. Since Abe's Cabinet conducting a balancing policy to maintenance a good relationship with Nokyo after decided a new policy. Furthermore, Re organization under Abe's Cabinet not weaken the agricultural policy and farmers. The new agricutrual policy, make an agricultural sector more competitive and farmers became more independent and strong. "
