"Pelanggaran kode etik sering terjadi selama proses pemilihan umum. Salah satu daerah yang sering terjadinya pelanggaran adalah Kabupaten Nias Barat Sumatera Utara. Penulisan ilmiah ini bertujuan untuk meneliti bagaimana kronologi pelanggaran, pihak yang terlibat serta melihat jenis putusan yang diberikan oleh Dewan Kehormatan Penyelenggara Pemilu kepada teradu pelaku pelanggaran. Pelanggaran tersebut berupa penanganan pelaporan pengaduan dugaan adanya kecurangan pemilu berupa penggelembungan suara yang tidak sesuai Standar Operasional Prosedur karena pelaporan hanya dilakukan melalui aplikasi pesan singkat dan tanpa disertai bukti yang valid dengan penyebutan subyek, cara perbuatan dilakukan, sarana yang digunakan, tempat kejadian, serta alat bukti yang dapat dikonfirmasi secara spesifik. Hasil putusan yang diberikan sebagai bukti kesalahan adalah berupa peringatan, peringatan keras dan juga pemberhentian tetap kepada Ketua KPU Sumatera Utara dan Anggotan KPU Sumatera Utara. Proses pemberian sanksi tidak mendapat penolakan sama sekali dari pihak KPU Sumatera Utara dan dengan tegas menindaklanjuti putusan yang telah di keluarkan oleh DKPP.

Violations towards code of conduct frequently occur during the election process. One area where it often occur is West Nias Regency, North Sumatra. This scientific writing aims to examine the chronology of violations, the parties involved and to see the types of decisions given by the Honorary Council of Election Administrators (DKPP) to the alleged perpetrators of violations. The violation was in the form of handling reports of complaints about allegations of election fraud in the form of inflating votes that were not in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures because reporting was only done through the short message application and without valid evidence such as the mention of the subject, the way the act was carried out, the means used, the scene of the incident, and the tools evidence that can be specifically confirmed. The results of the decisions given as evidence of errors were in the form of warnings, stern warnings and also permanent dismissals to the chairman of the North Sumatra KPU and the North Sumatra KPU members. The process of imposing sanctions did not receive any rejection at all from the North Sumatra KPU and strictly followed up on the decisions issued by DKPP."
