"New Product development has become an important part of a company success and survival. In the steel industry where product is the same, every steel companies is vulnerable to price cut. To defend them self, these steel companies need to develop new product that will put them in a better competitive position. This research aims to describe new product development process at PT. Krakatau Steel and the process effected the speed, cost, and quality of the new product. This research is a descriptive research. The new product development process at PT. Krakatau Steel follow a sequential phase. The speed of the development is steel low compare to leading steel company. The cost of the new product development was never evaluated. The company only rely on new product production cost to determine profitability. The quality of the new product conforms with industrial standard because the new products are derivatives of existing and improvement of existing product."

ABSTRAKKelangsungan bisnis PT XYZ sangat tergantung pada SI/TI yang dimanfaatkannya. Namun PT XYZ tidak memiliki proses pemeliharaan perangkat lunak yang terdefinisi. Tidak tercapainya target pemeliharaan perangkat lunak berpotensi menghambat pemanfaatan SI/TI, yang dapat merambat pada terhambatnya proses bisnis yang menggunakan SI/TI tersebut.Untuk mengatasi masalah manajemen pada pemeliharaan perangkat lunak, perlu diketahui tingkat kematangan proses pemeliharaan terlebih dahulu, agar dapat menyusun strategi SPI. Penelitian ini mengukur tingkat kematangan berdasarkan S3m menggunakan S3mAssess. Strategi SPI akan disusun menggunakan tingkat kematangan yang lebih tinggi dari saat ini.Penelitian ini menghasilkan strategi SPI yang dapat digunakan sebagai saran perbaikan bagi PT XYZ untuk meningkatkan kematangan proses pemeliharaan perangkat lunaknya. Peningkatan kematangan proses tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu dalam pencapaian visi dan misinya.
ABSTRACTBusiness continuity of PT XYZ depends on the usage of IS IT. However, PT XYZ does not have defined processes for its software maintenance. Unachieved maintenance target has potential to hamper the utilization of IS IT, thus could obstruct the business processes that depends on the IS IT as well.To solve the management problem of the software maintenance process, the maturity level of current process need to be figured out first, so the SPI strategy can be established. This research appraises maturity level based on S3m using S3mAssess. The SPI strategy will be established using higher maturity level than the current maturity level.This research establishes the SPI strategy that will be used to as a suggestion for improvement for PT XYZ to increase its maturity level of its software maintenance process. The increase in maturity level is expected to help it in achieving its vision and mission."

"Tesis ini membahas mengenai bagian awal proses pembangunan Strategic Plan pada sebuah perusahaan PT.X yang memiliki bisnis pada bidang layanan contact centre. Bagian awal dari proses tersebut adalah pembangunan strategy map dan Balanced Scorecard. Penelitian ini bersifat studi kasus dengan desain yang bersifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menemukan kekurangan dalam alur berpikir dan alur kerja pembangunan strategic plan, serta menyarankan perusahaan untuk mempertimbangkan faktor eksternal, internal dan penyusunan ulang faktor-faktor pembangunan suatu strategic plan. PT.X harus dapat mentranslasi strategic objectives yang menimbulkan gap, dalam sebuah kerangka yang dapat digunakan oleh unsur-unsur perusahaan untuk mengatasinya.
This thesis discusses the early part of the Strategic Plan development process at a company that has a business in the field of contact centre services . The initial part of the process is the development of a strategy map and a Balanced Scorecard . This research is a case study with a descriptive design . The results found flaws in the logic and workflow due to development of the strategic plan , as advised companies need to consider external factors , internal factors and reordering the factors of development of a strategic plan . PT.X must be able to translate strategic objectives that lead to gaps , within a framework that can be used by elements of the company can handle ."
