"This book has already proved itself as a course adoption leader in Childhood Studies. All of the strengths of the First Edition have been retained. The book is comprehensive and judged with the needs of students in mind. It is a model of clarity and precision and has been acknowledged as such in reviews and course feedback.
The new edition thoroughly revises old entries and adds new ones. The book is the most accessible, relevant student introduction to this expanding, interdisciplinary field. "

The war propaganda that has been occurring since World War II has become a phenomenon of societal polarization, resulting in destruction worldwide. Recognizing its impact, the United Nations has made efforts to establish a declaration on mass media to improve the quality of media publications through positive values. Through this declaration, peace academics have begun to raise awareness and develop peace journalism. It has been well-developed both in practice and theory, reflected in journal articles and books. So far, peace journalism has gained recognition among many journalists and academics, although its presence in the media is still less prominent compared to war journalism and mainstream journalism. Building upon the aforementioned premise, this writing aims to delve into the development of peace journalism over time, along with an overview of dynamics in mainstream media. To explore the topic, the author gathered 45 pieces of literature and utilized the taxonomy method as a tool for selecting themes. Based on the findings, three main themes emerged in peace journalism writing, (1) Conceptualization of Peace Journalism, (2) Enemies of Peace Journalism, and (3) Peace Journalism in Contemporary Conflicts. It was discovered that the majority of peace journalism studies were conducted by Western countries. The focus of peace journalism research primarily revolved around conflicts in developing or impoverished countries. Furthermore, peace journalism is also dependent on the capabilities of individual journalists. Therefore, this writing emphasizes the gaps in writing, practice, and theory within peace journalism and reevaluates what is essential in peace journalism."
