"ABSTRAK
Denoising dengan transformasi wavelet tradisionai (ortogonal) terkadang menampakkan apa yang disebut dengan artifak, yaitu noise yang dapat berupa osilasi tak beraturan, yang diantaranya dikenal sebagai fenomena Gibbs. Ini menipakan kelemahan yang ada pads denoising basis wavelet.
Suatu metode digunakan daiam rangka menekan atau mengurangi artifak tersebut (noise). Metode ini diperkenalkan olch Coifman, dan dikenal dengan metode Cycle-Spinning, serta variannya yang dikenal dengan metode Translasi-Invarian.
Pada skripsi ini, akan ditunjukkan perbandingan unjuk kerja dari metode_metode tersebut dibandingakan dengan metode denoising tradisionai (wavelet shrinkage biasa seperti VisuShrink). Unjuk kerja dari metode ini diperlihatkan daiam bentuk penampilan visual objek basil rekonstruksi dan pengitungan root niean square error (nnse)-nva dalam suatu tabel dan graft perbandingan.
Objek yang digunakan untuk proses denoising yaitu berupa suatu sinval artifisial menurut suatu fungsi tertentu, yang dalam beberapa penclitian dan iiterarur, objek-objek ini cukup sering digunakan.
Perbandingan yang dilakukan tidak hanya denoising daiam domain wavelet, namun juga denoising dalam domain paket cosinus yang mcnunjukkan bahwasannya metode ini dapat diterapkan dan bermanfaat untuk metode-metode lainnya (selain wavelet). Berhagai variasi dilakukan dalam simulasi yang menggunakan perangkat lunak Matiab versi 5.3.

"Metode penelitian kualitatif secara luas telah digunakan dalam berbagai penelitian sosial termasuk sosiologi. Terdapat
beberapa kesimpangsiuran dalam memahami metode kualitatif yang seringkali dianggap sebagai pelengkap dari metode
kuantitatif. Penelitian pustaka ini ingin mendiskusikan beragam isu terkait dengan kelebihan dan kekurangan dalam
metode penelitian kualitatif. Kami menyimpulkan bahwa metode kualitatif secara potensial dapat berguna dalam
menyumbangkan pembangunan teori-teori ilmu sosial serta metodologi dalam konteks ke-Indonesiaan. Lebih dari itu,
penggunaan metode penelitian kualitatif dapat membawa ilmu sosial khususnya sosiologi di Indonesia berada dalam
posisi setara dalam dialog peradaban dengan sesama komunitas akademik di Barat.
Qualitative method has been widely be adopted in research practices in Indonesian tradition of social sciences including
sociology. However, it seems there is misunderstanding on the method that is seen as additional to the quantitative one.
This literature study intend to discuss related issues to the strengths and weaknesses of qualitative method. We do
conclude here, that the method has productive potential for fostering the develomment of social theories as well as
methodology in the context of Indonesian world. Hence, it is possible to bring Indonesian social sciences especially
sociology into equal position of future dialog with the counterparts from the Western communities."

"Bandwidth merupakan salah satu sumber daya jaringan yang sangat penting, sebab ketersediaannya sangat terbatas dan digunakan untuk mefayani seluruh aplikasi yang akan dioperasikan di jaringan. Pengaturan/pengalokasian bandwidth untuk aplikasi multimedia (misalnya video on demand, videoconfrence, dsb) merupakan masalah utama sebab karakteristik trafik dari sumber yang sulit untuk diprediksi [201.
Pengalokasian bandwidth secara on-line merupakan salah satu metode untuk mengatasi masalah di atas, dimana dengan metode ini pengalokasian bandwidth untuk suatu aplikasi dapat dengan tepat dan optimal, sehingga dapat menghemat bandwidth yang tersedia dengan tetap menjaga kualitas layanan (QoS) yang diinginkan dari aplikasi yang diterapkan.
Pada skripsi ditunjukkan bahwa pengalokasian bandwidth secara on-line dengan menggunakan algoritma DSA+ menunjukan performansi yang lebih balk dalam mengalokasikan bandwidth, mengurangi banyaknya proses renegotiation dan mampu menjamin kualitas layanan (QoS) untuk sumber trafik MPEG compressed video daripada algoritma REQS."

"Penggabungan teknik modulasi dan pengkodean yang disebut modulasi terkode trellis (trellis coded modulation, TCM) yang meningkatkan kemampuan sistem transmisi digital tanpa meningkatkan daya yang ditransmisikan atau lebar pita yang dibutuhkan. Dengan menggunakan trellis coded asymmetric 8-PSK (TC-A8-PSK), akan didapatkan nilai bit error probability yang lebih baik bila dibandingkan dengan trellis coded symmetric 8-PSK. Pada skripsi ini dianalisa trellis coded asymmetric 8-PSK dengan menggunakan metode kejadian kesalahan pertama (first error event method) untuk mendapatkan modulasi yang optimal pada kanal berfading dan kanal Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) dengan disertai cochannel interference. Dari hasil diperoleh bahwa unjuk kerja dari trellis coded asymmetric 8-PSK akan lebih baik bila dibandingkan dengan unjuk kerja dari trellis coded symmetric 8-PSK. Unjuk kerja dari trellis coded asymmetric 8-PSK dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya jumlah interferer, parameter fading m, signal to interference ratio (SIR), dan jumlah kondisi dari pengkodean trellis. Semakin banyak jumlah interferer akan menyebabkan unjuk kerja TC asymmetric 8PSK semakin buruk. Sedangkan semakin besar nilai SIR dan jumlah kondisi dari pengkodean trellis akan menyebabkan unjuk kerja TC asymmetric 8PSK semakin baik."

"Pengembangan sistem pengenalan wajah yang optimal akan sangat bergantung pada proses seleksi ciri yang digunakan sebagai basis pada pengenalan pola. Dalam proses seleksi ciri tersebut akan terdapat dua aspek yang akan saling berpengaruh yaitu, aspek reduksi terhadap jumlah data yang digunakan pada klasifikasi dan peningkatan kemampuan pendiskriminasiannya. Dalam proyek mahasiswa ini, digunakan salah satu metode pengkodean citra wajah yang dapat memenuhi kedua aspek di atas, yaitu metode Fisherface yang berbasis pada Fisher?s Linear Discriminant (FLD). FLD merupakan metode class specific yang mampu memaksimalkan perbandingan antara between scatter class dengan within scatter class. Fisherface memiliki karakteristik mampu mengenali citra wajah dalam berbagai variasi pencahayaan, ekspresi, dan atribut [BELH97]. Transformasi Whitening kemudian diterapkan sebagai pre-processor FLD. Penerapan Whitening akan menghasilkan vektor baru yang komponennya tidak saling berkorelasi dan variansinya sama dengan unity. Sedangkan Algoritma Genetika digunakan untuk mengotomatisasi proses reduksi dimensi sehingga penentuan reduksi dimensi yang optimal tidak lagi dilakukan secara eksperimental. Eksperimen dilakukan pada dua jenis basis data wajah yang berbeda. Basis data wajah Yale digunakan untuk melihat pengaruh penerapan transformasi Whitening pada citra wajah frontal. Sedangkan basis data wajah 3 Dimensi digunakan untuk melihat pengaruh transformasi Whitening pada citra wajah 3 dimensi. Hasil eksperimen dengan basis data Yale menunjukkan tingkat pengenalan Fisherface dengan transformasi Whitening relatif sama dengan yang tidak menggunakan Whitening. Sementara pada basis data 3 Dimensi, penerapan Whitening diduga dapat memperbaiki tingkat pengenalan Fisherface pada saat jumlah citra acuan relatif sedikit. Pada kedua basis data, transformasi Whitening dapat meningkatkan tingkat pengenalan pada kondisi di mana dimensi ciri yang dihasilkan sangat kecil."

"[ABSTRAK
Penurunan kualitas lingkungan terjadi karena kelalaian, ketidaktahuan dan tiadanya etika serta moral terhadap lingkungan. PLH penting diajarkan pada murid SD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menganalisis metode yang digunakan di Sekolah Jepang dan Sekolah Adiwiyata dalam mengajarkan PLH; dan (2) menganalisis metode yang efektif dalam mengajarkan PLH. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan di
Sekolah Jepang Jakarta dan Bandung; dan sekolah penerima Adiwiyata di DKI Jakarta yaitu SDN Klender 22, SDN Benhil 12, SDN Menteng 02, dan SDN Sungai Bambu 05 serta SDN Sungailiat 05. Responden berjumlah 72 orang guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode yang digunakan oleh guru Sekolah Jepang dan Sekolah Adiwiyata dalam mengajarkan PLH adalah metode ceramah, metode pengalaman langsung dan metode diskusi. Pemilihan metode mempertimbangkan tujuan pembelajaran, situasi dan kesiapan pengajar sendiri. Metode yang efektif digunakan untuk mengajarkan PLH di sekolah dasar Adiwiyata dan sekolah Jepang adalah metode pengalaman langsung, metode diskusi dan metode ceramah.
