"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinyadinamika kebijakan luar negeri AS terhadap kelompok Uighur (periode 2002-2011). Penelitian ini akan dianalisis dengan konsep kepentingan nasional. Dengankonsep tersebut, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa kebijakan luar negeri ASterhadap kelompok Uighur terkait dengan kepentingan-kepentingan AS yaitukepentingan ekonomi dan strategis. Kepentingan ekonomi tersebut adalah minyakdan gas di wilayah Xinjiang, dan perdagangan dengan China. Sedangkankepentingan strategis tersebut adalah alasan keamanan dan hegemoni AS.

AbstractThe aim of this thesis is to explain the factors that cause the inconsistency of U.S.foreign policy toward Uyghur terrorist groups (period 2002-2011). According tothe concept and theory, the thesis has proved that the inconsistency of U.S.foreign policy toward Uyghur terrorist groups related to the U.S. national interestswhich are the economic and strategic interest. The economic interests are oil andgas in the Xinjiang region, and trade with China. While the strategic interests arefor the U.S. security and hegemonic reasons."

This research use a quantitativestudy with method of literary study. The purpose of this research is to understandwhy US and China made a foreign policy towards Central Asia. "ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas kepentingan ekonomi-politik AS di balik defisit perdagangan dengan China. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan konsep ekonomi-politik internasional dan interdependensi asimetris. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa defisit perdagangan dengan China adalah bagian dari kecendrungan global dan hubungan perdagangan AS dengan China merupakan hubungan yang menguntungkan. Hubungan perdagangan ini telahmemberikan peluang bagi AS untuk memperluas pasar serta keuntungan terkait status China sebagai strategic partner AS dalam upaya penyelesaian isu-isu bilateral.

ABSTRACTThis thesis explores the political-economic interest of US in its trade deficit with China. This research using the concept of international political economy and asymmetrical interdependence. This research is qualitative descriptive interpretive. The result of this research showed that the trade deficit with China is a part of global trends and U.S. trade relations with China is profitable relationship. Trade relationship has provided an opportunity for the U.S. to expand markets and profits related to the status of China as US strategic partner in the effort to the completion bilateral issues."
