"This text provides an accessible and scholarly introduction to the core ideas of the existentialist tradition. This book draws on a wide range of existentialist thinkers in chapters centering on the key themes of freedom, being-in-the-world, alienation, nihilism, anxiety and authenticity. He also addresses important but often overlooked issues in the canon of existentialism, with discussions devoted to the role of embodiment, the movement's contribution to ethics, politics, and environmental and comparative philosophies, as well as its influence on contemporary psychiatry and psychotherapy. The enduring relevance of existentialism is shown by applying existentialist ideas to contemporary philosophical discussions of interest to a wide audience. The book covers secular thinkers such as Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Nietzsche, Sartre, Camus, and Beauvoir as well as religious authors, such as Buber, Dostoevsky, Marcel, and Kierkegaard.

The main focus of this study is the shift of technology meaning in human life from Spike Jonze’s movie, “Her”. This study will use Gabriel Marcel’s theory of existentialism to analyze the correlation between human’s existence and intersubjectivity. By using Gabriel Marcel’s approach, this study examines Theodore’s interpersonal relationship with Samantha based on love, opinion, fidelity and hope. From machine to something like real human, Samantha had experience the change of her meaning as an operating system. This study confirms that individual does not need to have body to exist in the world. The existence would happen as long as people consider other as subject and keep up the interpersonal relationship. All in all, Her criticize about human mental in this world where people really depend on technology in this world. This situation has made the interpersonal relationship destroyed."

In existentialism understanding, human is considered to have freedom. That freedom is in the perimeter of her facticity as humanbeings. In order to understand the existential freedom, people often thinks that it has no relation with what so called responsibility. In this proposal of Naturalistic Existentialism concept, human being is understood through their human nature, but still they can exist, in their existence projective freedom. The existentialim through the naturalistic perspective is the best available answer to corelate the existentialism with humanism."
