"This book responds to the dynamic production and consumption of stories of all kinds in popular and academic cultures. It offers a comprehensive discussion of the underlying philosophical and methodological issues of narrative and personal narrative research as well as applying these to the current digital landscape. The book provides practical guidance on data management and use of software for the narrative researcher. Illustrated with examples from a range of fields and disciplines as well as the author's own work on hacking cultures and cultural activism, this title is a must for anyone wanting to learn about narrative approaches in social research and how to conduct successful narrative research in a digital age."

This study aims to explore the potential of architectural narrative driven by fragments of the memory. In the process, boundaries and spatial qualities of architecture are identified through fragments of memory. Architectural discourses have long explored the narrative approach. However, in the era of advanced technology we now live in, where construction has reached the virtual realm and gravity is no longer relevant, architecture is now able to transcend beyond the existing physical boundaries to optimise its capacity in conveying a narration. Through this study, based on the notion of memory palace, the author aims to utilise architecture as a medium to communicate the journey of the author's life memories and invite the reader to experience the journey as well. In this study, the memory palace method serves as the operation system of spatial construction, where memory fragments are to be reconstructed based on a path of the memory journey. Finally, this exploration aims to contribute to the architecture design method driven by narrative. Narrative architecture driven by memory fragments allows architecture to bring to life our memory within the space and time, to become more personal, and also to transcend the conventional physical limitations."

ABSTRAKThis paper discusses strategies of appropriation of narrative heritage in literate and narrative histories on the island of Kisar. It shows that notwithstanding their sometimes literate characteristics, storytelling in competitive contexts still follows strategies that are typical for oral performances. This paper questions in how far literate and narrative historiographies can and ought to be separated from each other in Southwest Maluku. This paper has been written in the framework of the project The Orphans of the Dutch East Indies Company, funded by The Dutch Culture Centre for International Cooperation. We like to thank Gerlov van Engelenhoven, Charles Katipana, and Geert Snoeijer for the much needed discussions and reflections. Of course, we are the only ones to blame for any shortcomings in the text."

"The book includes a theory for flow barriers and passability to boundaries in discontinuous dynamical systems that will completely change traditional concepts and ideas in the field of dynamical systems. Edge dynamics and switching complexity of flows in discontinuous dynamical systems are explored in the book and provide the mathematical basis for developing the attractive network channels in dynamical systems. The theory of bouncing flows to boundaries, edges and vertexes in discontinuous dynamical systems with multi-valued vector fields is described in the book as a “billiard” theory of dynamical system networks. The theory of dynamical system interactions in discontinued dynamical systems can be used as a general principle in dynamical system networks, which is applied to dynamical system synchronization. "

"Studies on hagiographies of the migrant founder of the Bāʿalawī Hadrami and its diaspora, Aḥmad b. ʿĪsā al-Muhājir tend to be critical of them as being too descriptive or fantastical and fabricated in nature thereby rendering them otiose as subjects of study in scholarly research. Through juxtaposing these hagiographies with that of two of the most important ancestors of al-Muhājir, the Prophet Muḥammad and Ḥusayn, this article argues that the hagiographies of al-Muhājir’s migration are purposefully aligned with the migration narratives of Muḥammad and Ḥusayn in order to cement him and his descendants, the Bāʿalawīs, as the legitimate inheritors of the Prophet and his grandson in a spiritual and genealogical chain. By carefully dismantling the elements present in these three narratives, this article stresses the need to look at history beyond its factual and descriptive utility but as a tool used to create and legitimize an ideological agenda."

"This book introduces the basic ideas to build discontinuous Galerkin methods and, at the same time, incorporates several recent mathematical developments. The material covers a wide range of model problems, both steady and unsteady, elaborating from advection-reaction and diffusion problems up to the Navier-Stokes equations and Friedrichs' systems. Both finite element and finite volume viewpoints are exploited to convey the main ideas underlying the design of the approximation. "
