"Masalah identitas selalu menjadi diskusi yang berlanjut di sejarah Arsitektur Indonesia. Untuk waktu yang lama, ide identitas selalu berubah dari satu periode ke periode lainnya, dan arsitektur tumbuh sesuai dengan masyarakat dan kejadian disekitarnya. Skripsi ini adalah penulisan yang deskriptif membahas identitas Arsitektur Indonesia; menemukan pola penentu selagi melihat sejarah Arsitektur Indonesia. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk memahami lebih jauh tentang apa identitas Arsitektur Indonesia di era kontemporer, dan bagaimana identitas Arsitektur Indonesia diwakili di era saat ini dengan melihat beberapa bangunan yang baru saja direnovasi di Gelora Bung Karno sebagai contoh.

The matter of identity has always been an on-going discussion through out the history of Indonesian Architecture. For a long time now, the idea of identity changes from one period to the other, and architecture grows in accordance to its society and recent happenings. This thesis is a descriptive writing discussing the identity of Indonesian Architecture; finding a common denominator as we look through the history of Indonesian Architecture. This thesis aims to understand further on what identity of Indonesian Architecture is in the contemporary era, and how the identity of Indonesian Architecture is represented in the current era by looking at some of the newly renovated buildings in Gelora Bung Karno as examples."

"Pada akhir abad ke-18 muncul kecenderungan untuk kembali pada gaya bangunan masa lalu. Hal itu menjadi pemicu arsitektur Neo Klasik berkembang di Eropa. Salah satu bangunan bergaya Klasik adalah Basilika Saint Petrus di Roma. P.J.H. Cuypers bersama G.J. Swaay merancang Basiliek van de H.H. Agatha en Barbara di Oudenbosch yang mengadaptasi gaya Klasik Romawi pada Baislika St. Petrus dan membuat replika dari gereja tersebut di Oudenbosch.. Cuypers adalah arsitek Neo Gotik, karena itu dalam artikel ini akan dibahas bentuk Neo Klasik apa yang ada pada bangunan Basiliek dan perbandingannya dengan bangunan-bangunan rancangan Cuypers yang bergaya Neo Gotik, serta bagaimana pengaruh gaya Neo Gotik Cuypers pada bangunan tersebut. Bangunan rancangan Cuypers yang menjadi acuan untuk dibandingkan dengan Basiliek van de H.H. Agatha en Barbara di Oudenbosch dalam artikel ini adalah Kasteel de Haar di Utrecht, Rijksmuseum, dan Amsterdam Centraal Station di Amsterdam.

In the end of the 18th century, there was a tendency to return to the building styles of the past eras. That was the trigger for the developing of Neoclassic Architecture in Europe, One of the classical building is St. Peter‟s basilica in Rome. P.J.H. Cuypers and G.J. Swaay designed Basiliek van de H.H. Agatha en Barbara in Oudenbosch that adapted the Classic Roman Styles of St. Peter‟s Basilica and made its replica in Oudenbosch. Cuypers is a Neogotik architect, therefore this article will explain the characterisctics of Neoclassic styles in Basiliek van Oudenbosch and compare it with other designs of Cuyper. This article also explains how Neogotik had influenced Cuypers in designing Basiliek van Oudenbosch. Kasteel de Haar in Utrecht, Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam Centraal Station in Amsterdam are Cuyper‟s building that will be compared with Basiliek van De H.H. Agatha en Barbara in Oudenbosch."
