"Cultural studies is a study of culture, the paradigm of which is quite different from that of the conventional (i.e. modern) studies. If we accept this view, it means that the whole problem of cultural reality, epistemology, and methodology cannot be used to understand and investigate cultural studies and multiculturalism. The infeasibility of using conventional study of culture to apprehend cultural studies and multiculturalism is related with the principle of incommensurability between those two fields, so there are different worldviews and rules (language games) between the two. This difference is vividly showed in character and model of study that conceives culture as homogeneity, single identity, patterned values, fragmented. Cultural studies and multiculturalism conceive culture as plurality, complexity, constructed identity, dynamics, diversity, interaction, and something porous. In light of this worldview, cultural studies, multiculturalism, and globalism, according to my analysis, must be understood and studied from postmodern perspective or paradigm."

"Mimpi merupakan bahasa simbolik dari ketidaksadaran manusia. Dalam proses individuasi, mimpi merepresentasikan motif-motif yng merupakan manifestasi dari arketipe. Representasi inilah yang mengkonfrontasikan ego dengan arketipenya tersebut. Film Inception menggambarkan konfrontasi ini dalam relasi antara tokoh protagonis dan antagonisnya. Dream is the symbolic language of human’s unconsciousness. In the individuation, dream represents motives that are manifestation from archetype. This representation confronts ego with archetypes. The film Inception shows this confrontation in a relation between the protagonist and antagonist character. By this confrontation, the ego realizes itself with the concept of The Self. The method used in this research is Carl Gustav Jung’s Analytical Psychology."

"Dalam dunia modern, manusia cenderung melihat segala sesuatunya hanya berdasarkan fungsi semata bahkan memandang manusia sendiri sebagai kumpulan fungsi. Gabriel Marcel, seorang filsuf Perancis yang berbicara mengenai keberadaan manusia berpendapat bahwa cinta kasih dapat membuat manusia keluar dari kumpulan fungsi tersebut dan memandang secara keseluruhan sehingga menjadi manusia yang ada. Pandangan Marcel ini menjadi alat untuk menganalisis seorang tokoh di dalam film yang berjudul 50 First Dates dengan menjadikan tokoh tersebut, Henry Roth, sebagai representasi manusia yang bereksistensi melalui cinta kasih di dalam sebuah relasi intersubjektivitas.

In the modern world, human tends to see everything is based only on the function even seeing human itself as a crowd of function. Gabriel Marcel, a French Philosopher who talked about the human existence had an opinion that love can make human gets out from that crowd of function and sees as a whole-being for becoming a human who exists. This view of Marcel becomes a tool to analyze a character in the film which has a title 50 First Dates by making that character, Henry Roth, as a representative from the human who exists through love in an intersubjectivity relation."
