"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki keberadaan hubungan kausalitas baik dalam jangka pendek maupun dalam jangka panjang antara kompetisi perbankan, stabilitas perbankan, dan pertumbuhan ekonomi pada 17 negara di Asia yang dibagi menjadi empat wilayah (Asia Barat, Asia Selatan, Asia Tenggara, dan Asia Timur) periode 2007-2017 dengan menggunakan data tahunan World Development Indicators yang dirilis Bank Dunia. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan Principal Component Analysis (PCA) dalam rangka menyusun indeks Kompetisi Perbankan (BCO) dan indeks Stabilitas Perbankan (BST) yang mana masing-masing kedua indeks tersebut terdiri atas lima variabel. Hubungan kausalitas ditentukan berdasarkan metode kausalitas panel Granger yang mengacu pada model Panel Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan kausalitas dalam jangka pendek dan jangka panjang antara kompetisi perbankan, stabilitas perbankan, dan pertumbuhan ekonomi meskipun hubungan kausalitas ini memiliki hasil yang bervariasi berdasarkan wilayahnya.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to investigate the existence of short-term and long-term causality relationships between banking competition, banking stability, and economic growth in 17 countries in Asia which are divided into four regions (West Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia) for period 2007-2017 using the annual data of World Development Indicators released by the World Bank. In this study, researcher used Principal Component Analysis (PCA) in order to construct the Banking Competition index (BCO) and the Banking Stability index (BST), where each of the two indices consisted of five variables. Causality relationships are determined based on the Granger panel causality method which refers to the Panel Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) model. The results showed that there were short-term and long-term causality relationships between banking competition, banking stability, and economic growth even though this causality relationship had results that varied based on the region."

"ABSTRAKKrisis Finansial Global 2008 bagi berbagai pihak adalah krisis ekonomi terbesar yang melanda perekonomian dunia secara luas, bahkan krisis ini seringkali disandingkan dengan Great Depression yang terjadi pada tahun 1930. Dari seluruh negara yang terkena krisis, India merupakan salah satu negara yang mampu menunjukan performa positif ketika berbagai negara lain termasuk negara maju memasuki pertumbuhan ekonomi negatif. Melalui pendekatan deskriptif analisis dan dengan menggunakan teori globalisasi ekonomi yang dikemukakan oleh David Held, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pola interaksi yang dimiliki oleh India dalam globalisasi ekonomi merupakan salah satu kekuatan utama India dalam menghadapai Krisis Finansial Global. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dengan mengunakan variasi variabel yang dijelaskan oleh Held et. al, India memiliki pola interaksi high extensity, low intensity, high velocity dan low impact. Pola interaksi yang dimiliki oleh India menunjukan kegiatan ekonomi India yang walaupun telah dijalin dengan berbagai Negara di seluruh dunia, namun tidak memiliki integrasi yang besar dalam ekonomi domestiknya. Intensity yang rendah tersebut kemudian berbanding lurus dengan rendahnya perubahan dalam landasan kebijakan dan landasan perilaku serta institusi ekonomi di dalam pemerintah dan masyarakat India akibat Krisis Finansial Global.

ABSTRACTThe 2008 Global Financial Crisis for many is the biggest economic crisis that hit the world economy widely, even this crisis is often juxtaposed with the Great Depression that occurred in 1930. Of all the countries hit by the crisis, India is one country that can show a positive performance when various other countries including developed countries entered negative economic growth. Through a descriptive analytical approach and using the theory of economic globalization proposed by David Held, this study found that the pattern of interaction that India has in economic globalization is one of India 39 s major strengths in the face of the Global Financial Crisis. This study found that by using variations of variables described by Held et. al, India has a pattern of interaction of high extensity, low intensity, high velocity and low impact. The pattern of interaction held by India shows the economic activity of India which although has been woven with various countries around the world, but has no great integration in the domestic economy. The low intensity is then directly proportional to the low rate of change in the foundation of policies and the foundations of behavior and economic institutions within Indian government and society due to the Global Financial Crisis."
