"Indeks Konsumsi Energi IKE pada sebuah perkantoran digunakan sebagai tolak ukur penentuan tingkat efisiensi energi yang digunakannya. Sistem pendinginan menjadi salah satu faktor yang sangat berpengaruh dalam penggunaan energi pada gedung tersebut. Prosedur perhitungan dari IKE tersebut akan dijelaskan sebagai berikut. Besar kWh selama setahun penuh yang telah diambil datanya sebagai sample akan dibagikan dengan total luas ruangan yang menggunakan sistem pendinginan. Nilai IKE ini kemudian akan dijadikan tolak ukur efisiensi gedung tersebut dan akan didapatkan berapa persen energi yang teralihkan kepada sistem pendinginan.

Energy Use Intensity EUI in an office is used as a benchmark to determining the level of energy efficiency used. Cooling system became one of the most influential factors in energy use in the building. The calculation procedure of the IKE will be explained as follows. The amount of kWh for the full year which has been sampled as sample will be distributed with the total area of the room using the cooling system. The value of IKE will then be used as a benchmark of the efficiency of the building and will get how much percent of energy that is transferred to the cooling system."
