"Penelitian ini bertujuan membuktikan bahwa sepatu dapat menjadi media untuk menilai dan menyimpulkan kepribadian sang pemilik, serta melihat akurasi dan perbedaan hasil penilaian pengamat pada sepatu yang digunakan di situasi longgar (pergi ke mal) dan situasi ketat (kantor magang). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan thin slices dengan menyajikan foto sepatu sebagai media penilaian kepribadian sang pemilik, teori kepribadian yang digunakan adalah BigFive. Responden merupakan psikolog klinis (N=144) yang diberikan 5-6 foto sepatu dan responden diminta menilai kepribadian pemilik sepatu menggunakan alat ukur BFI10. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa baik sepatu yang digunakan pada situasi longgar dan situasi ketat, pengamat mampu menyimpulkan trait kepribadian conscientiousness dan neuroticism dengan baik. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran bagaimana sepatu dapat menjadi media penilaian kepribadian dari individu dan penulis berharap dapat menjadi alternatif bagi psikolog klinis dalam memberikan penilaian first impression pada saat melakukan pekerjaan.

This study aims to prove that shoes can be a medium for assessing and inferring the owner's personality, as well as seeing the accuracy and differences in the results of observers' assessments on shoes used in weak situations (going to the mall) and strong situations (offices). The study uses a thin slices approach by presenting photos of shoes as a medium for assessing the owner's personality, the personality theory used is BigFive. Respondents are clinical psychologists (N=144) who are given 5-6 photos of shoes and respondents are asked to assess the personality of the shoe owner using the BFI10 measuring instrument. The results of this study indicate that both shoes are used in weak situations and strong situations, observers can conclude the personality traits of conscientiousness and neuroticism well. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of how shoes can be a medium for assessing the personality of individuals and the author hopes to be an alternative for clinical psychologists in providing first impression assessments when doing work."
