"This is an encyclopedia of musical instruments and the art of music-making. It examines a wide range of musical instruments, including strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, keyboards and the voice, as well as rare and non-Western instruments. It features famous players, orchestras and concert halls, and the role of the composer and the conductor. It includes information on the evolution of the orchestra - from medieval consorts, baroque and classical orchestras, through to the modern symphony orchestra. It explores other forms such as folk music, brass and military bands, country music, jazz bands, big bands and pop groups. The art of music-making has existed for thousands of years. This fascinating book begins with a history of music-making, posing the questions "What is music?" and "What is a musical instrument?"

Object which moves through space and time leaves traces. These traces are experienced by human rsquo s five senses to experience space and time. Nevertheless, people commonly only rely on their sense of vision to experience it, which results in the inability to experience space and time as a whole. I try to translate visual traces into audio data to see whether the correlation between the received data by eyes and the received data by ears can be aligned or not. In this study, 2d audio 3d translation process becomes a method to design. Tones which at first only pleased the ears, now can be experienced visually through architecture. On the contrary, architectural elements which are commonly consumed by eyes, can also be consumed by ears, by translating the architectural elements to tones for making music. Finally, relation between music and architecture can be clearer and more easily understood."

Donoghue, Emma
"'Frog music' is the new atmospheric and gripping novel by Emma Donoghue, author of the multi-million-copy bestseller Room, soon to be adapted as a major motion picture directed by Lenny Abrahamson. San Francisco, 1876: a stifling heat wave and smallpox epidemic have engulfed the City. Deep in the streets of Chinatown live three former stars of the Parisian circus: Blanche, now an exotic dancer at the House of Mirrors, her lover Arthur and his companion Ernest. When an eccentric outsider joins their little circle, secrets unravel, changing everything - and leaving one of them dead. Inspired by a true unsolved crime, 'Frog music', a New York Times bestseller, is a dark and compelling story of intrigue and murder."
