"In this article, the author presents his thoughts on cultural diversity as the motto of Indonesia nation, on the basis of the ideology of' Unity in Diversity' (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika,). The author has a notion that the meaning of bhinneka tunggal ika was emphasized as ethnics diversity during New Order (Orde Baru) and Habibies rezim era. It represents the consequence of ethnical politics with plural society model used by the regimes.The fall down of the New Order regime, caused any social conflicts and national disintegration especially in a period of Habibie governance. To rebuild social solidarities and the Indonesian national integration, the author offers model of multiculturalism in comprehending bhinneka tunggal ika which emphasizing equal cultural diversity. The author stresses that the model of multiculturalism only possible exist and expand in societes which uphold principles of democracy, justice supremation of law, and also eradication of corruption and collusion."

"Bhinneka Tunggal Ika adalah semboyan kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara, merefleksikan realitas masyarakat kita yang sangat heterogen dari segi etnis, budaya, bahasa dan agama, yang tumbuh berkembang di berbagai kepulauan nusantara. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika kerap diartikan sebagai berbeda-beda namun tetap satu jua, unity in diversity, bersatu dalam keberagaman, persatuan dalam kondisi majemuk. Jelas bahwa negara Republik Indonesia terdiri dari masyarakat yang sangat majemuk. Kemajemukan yang dimaksud mencakup etnis, agama, kepercayaan, kebudayaan daerah asal, bahasa daerah asal, dan lain sebagainya. Menjadi persoalan, bagaimana menjaga dan mengembangkan kebinekaan namun tetap dalam semangat dan bingkai keikaan sebagai bangsa dan negara. Pendidikan merupakan komponen penting dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran dan keyakinan serta komitmen dalam melestarikan nilai-nilai Pancasila dan Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Penelitian ini menelisik bagaimana penyemaian nilai Bhinneka Tunggal Ika dalam dunia pendidikan dilihat melalui perspektif Ketahanan Nasional. Penelitian ini melihat kesesuaiannya dengan hukum perundang-undangan yang berlaku. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan ketahanan nasional berdasarkan multidisiplin. Hasil yang didapat adalah kesadaran akan nilai sekolah yang terus dijaga dan diamalkan menjadi fondasi kuat dalam penyemaian nilai-nilai di sekolah. Sekolah publik masih memerlukan banyak perhatian serius dari pemerintah perihal penanaman nilai Pancasila dan Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Peraturan yang berlaku sudah ideal namun permasalahan terdapat pada implementasi dan pengawasan.

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is the motto of the Indonesian nation, reflecting the reality of Indonesian society, which is highly heterogeneous in terms of ethnicity, culture, language, and religion, which spreads and develops in various places of the Nusantara archipelago. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is interpreted as being different, unity in diversity, and pleural conditions. The Republic of Indonesia consists of a very pluralistic society. The plurality includes ethnicity, religion, belief, the regional culture of origin, regional language, and others. The obstacle is maintaining and developing diversity while keeping the spirit of togetherness as a nation and state. Education is the crucial component in growing awareness and beliefs and commitment to cultivating the values of Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. This study examined how cultivating the value of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika in the education world through the National Resilience perspective. This research also studied its conformity with the applicable laws and regulations. This study uses a qualitative method with a multidisciplinary approach to national resilience. The results obtained are awareness of school values continuously maintained and practiced to become a strong foundation for seeding schools' values. However, public schools still need strict much attention from the government regarding cultivating the values of Pancasila and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. The regulations that apply are ideal, but the problem lies in the implementation and supervision."
