"Disertasi ini merupakan paparan hasil penelusuran kolektivitas dalam drawing arsitektur sebagai proses terbuka. Drawing memiliki relasi yang mengikat dengan arsitektur, dan seringkali berposisi sebagai perantara antara gagasan menuju realita. Penelitian ini memosisikan drawing dalam arti sebagai produk dan juga sekaligus sebagai proses. Dengan menggunakan logika bahwa drawingdapat bersifat terbuka dan eksploratif, terbuka potensi kehadiran gagasan kolektivitas dalam drawing arsitektur. Penelusuran dalam penelitian ini bertujuan menyelidiki gagasan kolektivitas dalam drawing tersebut sebagai usaha pengembangan wacana representasi dan pengetahuan desain arsitektur.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dan menggunakan dua model hubungan riset dan desain yaitu research into design dan research through design. Rangkaian penelitian terdiri dari dua kegiatan, yaitu penelitian berbasis observasi dan penelitian berbasis praktik drawing. Penelitian berbasis observasi dilakukan untuk menelusuri drawing yang dilakukan secara kolektif, sedangkan penelitian berbasis praktik dilakukan dengan menggunakan drawing untuk mengungkap bentuk-bentuk kolektivitas tertentu melalui studi kasus sebagai konteks. Kedua kegiatan tersebut bertujuan untuk menelusuri dua posisi kolektivitas, yaitu sebagai landasan drawing serta sebagai kondisi yang diungkap melalui drawing.Temuan dari penelitian ini mengungkap karakteristik paradoks dan gagasan kesekaligusan pada kolektivitas dalam drawing. Penelusuran terhadap aspek kunci seperti negosiasi fragmen dan rangkaian keseluruhan, serta pengungkapan kondisi kolektivitas berbasis entitas, kualitas kondisi, dan waktu, menjadi aspek untuk pengembangan pengetahuan drawing arsitektur. Temuan ini memperluas wacana drawing sebagai proses terbuka, dengan memosisikan gagasan kolektivitas sebagai bagian dari representasi dan desain arsitektur.

This dissertation explores collectivity in architectural drawing as an open process. Drawing binds with architecture and is often an intermediary between ideas and reality. This research positions drawing as both a product and a process. By using the logic that drawing can be open and explorative, it opens the potential for the presence of the idea of collectivity in architectural drawing. This research aims to investigate the idea of collectivity in drawing as an effort to develop the discourse of representation and knowledge of architectural design.

This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, and utilised two models of research and design relationships: research into design and research through design. The research series consisted of two activities: observation-based research and drawing practice-based research. Observation-based research is conducted to explore drawing that is done collectively. In contrast, practice-based research uses drawing to reveal certain forms of collectivity through case studies as a context. Both activities aim to explore two positions of collectivity, namely, as the foundation of drawing and as a condition revealed through drawing.

The findings of this research reveal the paradoxical characteristics and the notion of altogetherness of collectivity in drawing. The exploration of key aspects, such as the negotiation of fragments and whole series and the disclosure of entity-based collectivity conditions, quality conditions, and time, become aspects of the development of architectural drawing knowledge. The findings expand the discourse of drawing as an open process, positioning the notion of collectivity as part of architectural representation and design."
