"Disertasi ini merupakan studi hermeneutika feminisme bagi penafsiran Alquran, khususnya hermeneutika feminisme dalam pemikiran Amina Wadud. Problem metodologis dalam penafsiran Alquran telah melahirkan penafsiran yang bias gender dan telah membuat perempuan menjadi subordinat dan tertindas. Isu-isu gender telah melahirkan pandangan bahwa kedudukan perempuan lebih rendah dari laki-laki dan kemanusiaan perempuan tidak utuh. Dalam upaya mencapai kesetaraan dan keadilan gender, Wadud membongkar bias gender dalam penafsiran Alquran untuk direinterpretasi dengan pendekatan hermeneutika feminisme.Tujuan disertasi ini adalah memformulasikan model hermeneutika feminisme dalam pemikiran Wadud, yaitu mengeksplisitkan cara kerja dan asumsi-asumsi metodologis yang terkandung dalam hermeneutika feminisme. This dissertation is the study of feminist hermeneutics in the Alquran, particularly, implementing feminist hermeneutics in Wadud?s literature/texts. Methodological problems in the interpretation of the Alquran has caused gender bias interpretations and has made women subordinate and oppressed. Gender isues spawned the view that the position of women in society is considered lower than male and female humanity is deemed incomplete. Thus, in order to achieve equality and gender justice, Wadud dismantles gender bias in the interpretation of the Alquran for reinterpretation.The purpose of this dissertation is to formulate models of feminist hermeneutics used in Wadud?s literature/texts. It shows how feminist hermeneutics works and methodological assumptions in feminist hermeneutics. The important contribution of feminist hermeneutics is to include feminist interpretation, an interpretation which articulates the voice of women in the Alquran."

"Tulisan ini adalah kajian tentang interpretasi simbol omnipoten atau kemahakuasaan Tuhan dan kaitannya dengan evil atau kejahatan. Atribut omnipoten yang disematkan pada Tuhan merupakan sifat yang masih menimbulkan paradoks. Interpretasi konsep omnipoten atau kemahakuasaan yang tersedia masih banyak meninggalkan pertanyaan, terutama keraguan bahwa Tuhan dapat melakukan segalanya termasuk melakukan evil atau kejahatan. Manusia secara intuitif cenderung lebih percaya pada Tuhan yang Maha Baik daripada Tuhan yang jahat, tetapi alasan mengapa Tuhan meng'ada'kan kejahatan di dunia belum sepenuhnya dapat dijawab. Dengan menggunakan metode hermeneutika Paul Ricoeur, artikel ini menjelaskan konsep omnipoten dan definisi evil dengan refleksi kritis, supaya maknanya tidak hanya dipahami utuh sebagai makna literal, tetapi memberi kebermaknaan hidup bagi penafsir, karena interpretasi yang ada selama ini kurang menjelaskan keterhubungan konsep kemahakuasaan Tuhan dengan makna refleksi kritisnya. Sehingga Tuhan yang Mahakuasa tidak hanya dapat dipahami dalam ranah teologi dogmatis, namun filosofis. Evil yang selama ini disematkan kepada Tuhan dijawab jika evil merupakan kekurangan, bukan kelemahan Tuhan. Jika Tuhan Mahakuasa tidak mungkin Tuhan sekaligus tidak berkuasa, karena melanggar hukum logika yang konsisten. Lebih lanjut, pemaknaan pada kemahakuasaan Tuhan tidak hanya dimaknai dalam bentuk pengetahuan, tetapi refleksi kritis.

This paper is a study of the interpretation of the omnipotent symbol or the omnipotence of God and its relation to evil. The omnipotent attribute attached to God is a human trait that is constrained to cause paradoxes. The available interpretation of the concept of omnipotence still leaves many questions, especially doubts that God can do everything including evil. Humans intuitively tend to believe in a God who is good rather than God who is evil, but the reason why God creates evil in the world cannot be fully answered. Using Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic method, this article explains the concept of omnipotence and the definition of evil with critical reflection, so that the meaning is not only fully understood as a literal meaning but gives meaning to life for interpreters because the existing interpretations so far do not explain the connection between the concept of God's omnipotence and meaning critical reflection. So that God Almighty can not only be understood in the realm of dogmatic theology but also philosophical. The evil thrown at God is answered if evil is a deficiency, not God's weakness. If God is all-powerful, it is impossible that He is not powerful simultaneously, because it violates the laws of consistent logic. Furthermore, the meaning of God's omnipotence is not only interpreted in the form of knowledge, but also in critical reflection."

"Law of attraction adalah pemikiran utama dari buku The Secret yang pengetahuan atau ilmu pengetahuan yang digunakannya tidak memiliki referensi dan sistematika yang jelas. Analisis buku ini dengan hermeneutika Wilhelm Dilthey ditujukan untuk menganalisis kesalahan-kesalahan pakai dari sumber pengetahuan atau ilmu pengetahuan yang digunakan untuk mendukung teori law of attraction. Dengan penggunaan konsep hermeneutika Wilhelm Dilthey, terlihat bahwa The Secret merupakan sebuah literatur yang berusaha menciptakan pemikirannya sendiri sehingga memiliki part dan whole sebagai bentuk dari nexus miliknya. Part dalam The Secret merupakan teori yang mengarah untuk mendukung whole dari inti pemikirannya yaitu law of attraction. Di dalam hermeneutika tersebut juga terdapat dua jenis science beserta metode penggunaannya, yaitu nature science yang menggunakan eklären dan human science yang menggunakan verstehen. Dengan konsep hermeneutika tersebut, dapat diketahui bahwa science yang benar adalah science yang menggunakan metodenya sendiri.

Law of attraction is the main idea of book of The Secret that its based knowledge or science does not have a clear reference and systematics. The analyzes of this book with hermeneutics of Wilhelm Dilthey intended to analyze the mistakes of using the knowledge or science for become source to support the law of attraction theory. With the use of the concept of hermeneutic of Wilhelm Dilthey, it appears that The Secret is a literature that create its own idea so that it has a whole and part as the form for its nexus. Part in The Secret is a leading theory for support the whole for its main idea that is law of attraction. This hermeneutic also has two types of science and its method of use. They are nature science that uses eklären and human science that uses verstehen. With the concept of this hermeneutic, it can be discovered that the true science is the science that uses its own method."

"Sebagai negara yang mayoritas penduduknya beragama Islam, Indonesia mewadahi persoalan-persoalan hukum Islam termasuk yang menyangkut cerai ke dalam kompilasi hukum bernama Kompilasi Hukum Islam. Alih-alih menjadi solusi bagi umat muslim, nyatanya hukum tersebut memunculkan persoalan baru karena kebanyakan aturan yang ada di dalamnya menimbulkan ketidakadilan gender. Itu terjadi karena Al-Qur’an yang menjadi sumber rujukannya ditafsirkan dengan menggunakan metode klasik yang mengabaikan konteks sehingga tafsir yang dihasilkan tidak relevan dengan situasi sekarang ini. Dengan menggunakan metode hermeneutika feminis, artikel ini mengedepankan tafsir berkeadilan gender. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa hukum perceraian berbasis syariat islam di dalam KHI sudah tidak relevan karena masih menggunakan tasir klasik yang bias gender. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, artikel ini menggunakan metode deskripsi analitis untuk menjabarkan ketidakadilan gender yang terkandung pada hukum perceraian dan dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan metode hermeneutika feminis untuk menafsirkan ayat-ayat mengenai perceraian. Penggunaan metode hermeneutika feminis dalam penafsiran Al-Qur’an akan menghasilkan tafsir tanpa bias gender yang berpotensi untuk dapat mengatasi permasalahan ketidakadilan gender pada hukum Islam.

Having Muslim population as majority, Indonesia accommodates Islamic law’s issues, including divorce law, into a legal compilation called KHI or Kompilasi Hukum Islam (Compilation of Islamic Law). Instead of being a solution for Muslims, the law raises new problems because most of the rules in it causing gender injustice. This happens because the Qur’an, the source of KHI, is being interpreted using classical methods that ignore the context in the process of interpretation which leads to irrelevant interpretation with the current situation. By using the feminist hermeneutic method, this article puts forward an interpretation of gender justice. In order to achieve this goal, this article uses the analytical description method to describe the gender inequality contained in the divorce law and continues by using the feminist hermeneutic method to interpret verses about divorce. The use of the feminist hermeneutic method in the interpretation of the Qur'an will result in an interpretation without gender bias that has the potential to overcome the problem of gender inequality in Islamic law."
