"ABSTRAKThis research aim to analyse theme, didactic commendation and value in general of novel I am Hope masterpiece Gayatri Djajengminardo as component of study teaching of art in school. This research is qualitative research done in library FKIP UHN Pematangsiantar.Method applied in this research is descriptive method of Analitis with qualitative form. Data is obtained with read technique repeatedly and record- keeping.Based on result of data analysis in general of novel I am Hope is obtained theme; During there are bravery of hope will be able to be reached while commendation obtained in this novel is; Life is struggle, never give up and is patient in experiencing life. Didactic value gotten in general of novel I am Hope is; religion education value , education value of morale, social education value and liberal education value.General of Novel I am Hope has relevansi with study teaching material of art in school, either from the angle of art, language, culture social, and also psychology."

"Penelitian ini membahas perihal nilai didaktis atau nilai pendidikan yang dapat ditemukan dalam novel Lumbung Jati ing Gunung Kendheng. Partini B. sebagai pengarang novel tersebut berperan aktif menanam nilai-nilai didaktis dalam karya novelnya kepada para pembaca, sehingga karya-karyanya menjadi media utama dalam penyampaian moral kebaikan untuk masyarakat. Permasalahan yang dapat dirumuskan ialah bagaimana bentuk nilai didaktis dalam sumber data dan bagaimana relevansinya terhadap masyarakat Jawa. Maka tujuan dari adanya penelitian ini ialah untuk membuktikan adanya nilai-nilai didaktis dalam data melalui kajian sosiologi sastra. Penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat delapan nilai didaktis yang terkandung dalam novel Lumbung Jati ing Gunung Kendheng yaitu, kegigihan, tolong menolong antar sesama, menghargai antar manusia, toleransi, keburukan yang dibalas dengan kebaikan, pelajaran berharga, mengedepankan kebaikan, dan nilai yang bermanfaat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah nilai-nilai tersebut perlu dijadikan pedoman dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat agar menjadikannya lingkungan yang harmonis.

This study discusses about didactic value or educational value that can be found in the novel Lumbung Jati ing Gunung Kendheng. Partini B. as the author of the novel plays an active role in instilling didactic values in his novels to the readers, so that his works become the main media in spreading morals to society. The problem that can be formulated is how the form of didactic values in the data source and how relevant it is to Javanese society. So the purpose of this research is to prove the existence of didactic values in the data of sociological studies. This study shows eight didactic values contained in the novel Lumbung Jati ing Gunung Kendheng, namely, persistence, helping each other, respecting humans, tolerance, compliments in return, valuable, valuable, and useful values. The conclusion of this study is that these values need to be used as guidelines in social life so that a harmonious environment is used."
