"Nineteen Eighty-Four merupakan salah satu karya George Orwell, seorang sastrawan terkenal Inggris. Novel ini menggambarkan suatu kondisi kehidupan yang mengerikan yang diciptakan oleh suatu penguasa totaliter. Penguasa semacam itu mengontrol setiap aspek kehidupan tiap anggota masyarakat, termasuk juga aspek seksualitas.Melalui analisis yang mempergunakan teori Foucault diperlihatkan bagaimana penguasa mengontrol wacana seksualitas. Penguasa membentuk pemahaman tertentu mengenai seksualitas. Bagi penguasa, seksualitas diperbolehkan hanya sebagai bentuk pengabdian. Penguasa membentuk seksualitas negatif pada proles. Penguasa menciptakan seksualitas negatif tersebut untuk memperkokoh seksualitas positif mereka. Winston Smith, tokoh utama novel ini, menolak seksualitas positif tersebut dengan melakukan hubungan gelap bersama Julia.Melalui analisis nada, dapat dilihat nada pesimis dalam pemberontakan Winston. Nada pesimis ini terlihat dalam penggambaran Winston, penggambaran partai, serta kesenjangan antara harapan dan kenyataan yang didapatkan oleh Winston.

Nineteen Eighty-Four is one of the best works by the famous English writer, George Orwell. The novel pictures a horrible living condition created by a totalitarian authority. This authority controls members of the society in every aspects of their life, including sexuality.

By applying Foucault's theory on discourses, it is seen how sexuality are formed and used by the authority to control the society. Foucault's theory is used to analyze the power relation occurred in the discourses. The authority created a certain way of saying about the people's sexuality. According to the government, sexuality is permitted only as a way of servitude. The authority created a negative sexuality in the low class society called proles. They created this to strengthen the positive image of their sexuality. Winston Smith, the lead character in the novel, rejected this positive image of sexuality by making a secret relationship with Julia.

Through tone analysis, we can see a pessimist tone in Winston's rebellion. The pessimist tone is seen in the way Winston presented, the authority presented, and the contrast between what he expected to what he got in the end."

"ABSTRACTNovel Nineteen Eighty-Four karya George Orwell menceritakan tentang sebuah negara fiksi Oceania yang dikuasai partai Ingsoc dengan rezim totaliter dan segala informasi dikuasai oleh partai itu. Penelitian ini akan menganalisis bagaimana hiperrealitas yang ditimbulkan sebagai dampak konstruksi realita menggunakan berita bohong yang ada di dalam novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa proses pembuatan berita yang bersifat manipulatif dan dipenuhi dengan berita bohong mengonstruksi realita masyarakat Oceania dan mengaburkan persepsi mereka tentang kejahatan yang dilakukan oleh Ingsoc terhadap mereka.

ABSTRACTGeorge Orwell's Nineteen eighty-four tells the story of a fictional country Oceania which is ruled by the totalitarian English Socialist Party (or Ingsoc) and every information is managed and controlled by the ruling party. This research will analyze how hyperreality that is caused by the construction of reality using fake news in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. The method used in this research is qualitative content analysis. The research shows that the manipulative news making process which is filled with fake contents constructs the reality of Oceanian people and causes them to be unable to see the crimes that Ingsoc is doing to them."

"Tesis ini merupakan penelitian Sosiopsikologi sastra yang membahas empat karya sastra dari Okinawa yang menunjukkan kemunculan rasa bersalah yang muncul dari problematika yang dialami oleh tokoh utama. Hal ini dilatari oleh masalah diskriminasi yang dirasakan oleh warga Okinawa terkait dengan masalah pendudukan asing dan perang. Tesis ini berusaha menemukan pandangan dunia dengan menerapkan teori Struktural Genetik Goldmann dan mengaitkannya dengan rasa bersalah dari tokoh cerita dengan bantuan teori Psikologi. Pandangan dunia pengarang menunjukkan penolakan terhadap perang dan pendudukan asing. Pandangan ini berkaitan dengan posisi Okinawa yang menjadi korban diskriminasi, asimilasi, pertempuran Okinawa, dan pendudukan asing. Terdapat kesadaran ganda, yakni sebagai korban (higaisha) dan sebagai pelaku kejahatan perang (kagaisha), dalam kaitannya dengan posisinya sebagai bagian dari Jepang yang melakukan kejahatan perang di masa Perang Dunia II. Rasa bersalah yang muncul, menurut teori Psikologi, membawa pengarang pada pemikiran tentang perdamaian yang lebih objektif, yang tidak menonjolkan kesadaran sebagai korban yang sewajarnya muncul dari warga Okinawa.

This thesis is a socio-psychological literature research discusses four literatures from Okinawa. The stories tells about the guilty feeling emerged from problematic main character. It is based on discrimination felt by the Okinawan people associated with problems of foreign occupation and war. This thesis strives to find world-view by applying the theory of Structural Genetics Goldmann and associate it with the guilt of the main character of the story with the help of psychology theory. By using Genetic Structuralism theory from Lucien Goldmann, we can understand the author’s world view which shows objection to war and foreign (military) occupation .The world-views have a correlation with Okinawan position as a victim of discrimination, assimilation, and foreign (military) occupation, while in the other hand they do have contribution in doing so as a part of Japan military regime, widely known as perpetrator of war crime in the World War 2. The emerging guilty feeling follow the psychology theory, lead the authors to the more objective peace, leaving alone victim consciousness commonly accentuated by Okinawan people."

"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas perkembangan pemakaian yang terjadi pada kelas kata interjeksi bahasa Indonesia secara diakronis pada data interjeksi di dalam 4 novel populer, yaitu 2 novel populer pada periode Melayu Baru dan 2 novel pada periode bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana bentuk dan fungsi interjeksi yang terdapat dalam 4 novel populer pada dua periode tersebut. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, digunakan teori-teori interjeksi yang dikemukakan oleh para ahli, yakni Harimurti Kridalaksana 1998 , Hasan Alwi 2000 , dan Abdul Chaer 2008 . Selain itu, dalam bentuk interjeksi dan fungsi digunakan teori morfologi dan semantik oleh Abdul Chaer 1995, 2008 , J.S. Badudu 1985 , dan Harimurti Kridalaksana 1992 . Metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan bagaimana pemakaian kelas kata interjeksi dalam 2 novel populer pada masa Melayu Baru dan 2 novel populer pada masa bahasa Indonesia. Di samping itu, digunakan pula pendekatan proses Chaer, 2008 untuk menjawab permasalahan bentuk interjeksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengayaan yang terjadi terhadap bentuk dan fungsi interjeksi dalam 4 novel populer pada periode Melayu Baru hingga bahasa Indonesia.

ABSTRACTThis Research discusses the development of the usage that occurs in Indonesian language interjections word class diachronically in four populat novels, which is two popular novels from New Malay language period and two popular novels from Indonesia language period. This research answers the question about the interjections form and function that contained in four popular novels in two periods. To answers the research questions, the interjection theories were put forward by experts, namely Harimurti Kridalaksana 1998 , Hasan Alwi 2000 ,and Abdul Chaer 2008 . In addition, in the form of interjections and functions morphological and semantic theory is used by Abdul Chaer 1995, 2008 , J.S. Badudu 1985 , and Harimurti Kridalaksana 1992 . Descriptive method was used in this study to describe how to use the word intercourse class in 2 popular novels during the New Malay period and 2 popular novels during the Indonesian language. In addition, a process approach is also used Chaer, 2008 to answer the problem of forms of interjection. The results of this study indicate that there is an enrichment that occurs in the form and function of interjection in 4 popular novels in the New Malay period to Indonesian."
