"Terjemahan beranotasi adalah hasil terjemahan yang disertai anotasi atau pertanggungjawaban penerjemah atas padanan yang dipilihnya. Penerjemahan dan pembuatan anotasi melibatkan sejumlah teori, seperti metode, strategi, tahap, ideologi, dan etik penerjemahan yang harus dipilih atau dijalankan untuk menghasilkan terjemahan yang sesuai dengan tujuan (skopos) penerjemahan. Metode semantis dan ideologi pengasingan menjiwai penerjemahan TSu. Metode semantis cocok digunakan karena TSu kaya akan istilah budaya unik yang harus dijelaskan. Ideologi pengasingan cocok digunakan untuk mempertahankan nuansa kerajaan Inggris zaman Tudor. Pengetahuan skematis yang besar tentang sejarah dan kebudayaan Inggris kuno diperlukan untuk dapat memahami TSu dan menemukan padanan yang tepat. Di dalam penerjemahan karya sastra, kemampuan menulis amat diperlukan untuk tidak hanya mengalihkan pesan, tetapi juga mempertahankan sifat puitis terjemahan.

An annotated translation is a translation supported by annotations or translator's commentary on the equivalents chosen. Translating and annotating processes require a set of theory, consisting of methods, strategies, procedures, ideology, and ethics of translation, which must be selected or applied to produce a translation based on certain translation goals (skopos). Semantic method and the ideology of foreignization are dominant throughout the translation process. Semantic method is chosen because the ST is full of culturally-bound expressions requiring sufficient explanations. Foreignization is chosen to emphasize the Tudor England setting. Substantial schematic knowledge is required to fully understand the ST and choose the most accurate equivalents. In translating a novel, a literary talent is essential for not only transferring the messages, but also preserving the poetic nature of the translation."

"Terjemahan beranotasi adalah kajian yang menempatkan terjemahan sebagai objek penelitian. Teks sumber penelitian ini adalah novel anak dengan judul Judy Moody, Girl Detective. Metode penerjemahan yang digunakan adalah metode semantis dan komunikatif. Permasalahan yang sering muncul dalam proses penerjemahan novel ini adalah permainan bahasa. Selain itu, masalah yang berhubungan dengan ungkapan beku, istilah teknis, dan kata budaya juga ditemukan. Masalah-masalah itu dapat ditangani dengan menerapkan prosedur penerjemahan. Annotated translation is a study which place translation as the object of the study. The source text of this study is a children?s novel entitled Judy Moody, Girl Detective. Translation methods applied in this study are sematic and communicative methods. Problems that often occure in the translation process are language play. Beside that, problems related to fixed expressions, technical terms, and cultural words also occure during translation process. Those problems can be addressed by applying translation procedures. In conclusion, it is justified that children's novel is dominated by language play. The translator should maintain the effects of the language play in the source text to the target text."

"Penelitian ini membahas subjektivitas perempuan dalam film karya Justin Chadwick yang berjudul The Other Boleyn Girl. Pencermatan terhadap tokoh perempuan dalam film terkait subjektivitasnya dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori dari Simone de Beauvoir yang dikaitkan dengan konsep perkawinan. Teori film Joseph M. Boggs dan Dennis W. Petrie tentang penokohan dalam film juga digunakan untuk melihat subjektivitas tokoh utama dalam film. Hal pertama yang dilakukan untuk dapat melihat subjektivitas tokoh utama perempuan, adalah dengan mencermati penokohan tokoh-tokoh perempuan dalam film, kemudian melihat perbedaan konsep perkawinan antara dua tokoh utama dalam film. Penggambaran mengenai konsep perkawinan dua tokoh perempuan tersebut memberikan informasi bahwa kedua tokoh tersebut memiliki perbedaan dalam memandang perkawinan yang menyebabkan juga perbedaan kedua tokoh tersebut dalam memaknai diri sendiri.

This research is aimed to analyze female subjectivity in Justin Chadwick rsquo s The Other Boleyn Girl. The theory by Simone de Beauvoir is used to analyze the female main character and the subjectivity portrayed on her. The characterization in the fiction films by Joseph M. Boggs and Dennis W. Petrie is also used to analyze the characters and to see female subjectivity portrayed on the main character. The difference of marriage concept between two major characters in the film is elaborated to see the subjectivity. As the result of this research, the researcher found that there are some differences of marriage concepts between the two major characters that cause different way in understanding themselves."

Ideologi pelokalan hanya digunakan pada bagian-bagian tertentu untuk mencapai pemahaman pembaca TSa. Metode penerjemahan yang digunakan adalah metode semantis-komunikatif dengan penggunaan berbagai teknik yang mendukung kesepadanan makna dan kewajaran bentuk. Penerjemahan yang melibatkan teks sumber (TSu) yang menghadirkan sejumlah budaya kuat memerlukan upaya dari penerjemah agar tidak terjadi ?penjajahan budaya?. Keterlibatan teks sumber yang menghadirkan sejumlah budaya kuat di dalam penerjemahan ini memerlukan upaya penerjemah untuk menghindari ?penjajahan budaya?. Dalam situasi ini, penerjemah perlu mencondongkan pada lima aspek, (1) pemahaman karakteristik TSu; (2) pemahaman tentang calon pembaca TSa; (3) pemahaman budaya-budaya di dalam TSu dan budaya sasaran; (4) pemahaman makna dalam penyampaian pesan; dan (5) pemahaman bahwa ada perbedaan cara pengungkapan suatu ide pada dua budaya yang berlainan.

ABSTRACTThis thesis presents an annotated translation of the novel The Kaisho. Annotation is performed to explain the problem and its solution translation of the cultural terms. The uniqueness of the novel in terms of culture and the desire to introduce the cultural background of the source text become a basic of translation that adheres to the ideology of foreignization, without ignoring the localization of ideology. The localization only used on certain parts to achieve the target text reader comprehension. Translation method used is semantic-communicative methods with the use of various techniques that support the equivalence of meaning and reasonableness shape. "Tesis ini berisi terjemahan novel The Seed and the Sower ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia serta anotasinya untuk memberi penjelasan padanan yang digunakan dalam menghadapi masalah-masalah penerjemahan terutama dalam unsur kebudayaan Afrika Selatan dan Jepang, serta kesalahan tata bahasa. Novel ini dipilih karena pekat dengan unsur budaya akibat banyak kebudayaan yang terlibat, serta terdapat banyak situasi komunikasi orangasing yang berbahasa Inggris salah akibat latar belakang novelnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan terjemahan yang sesuai dengan skoposnya dan bertanggung jawab terhadap terjemahan itu dengan anotasi yang sesuai. Ada tiga masalah yang dijabarkan dalam penelitian ini: 1 masalah penerjemahan yang dihadapi saat menerjemahkan, 2 teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan, dan 3 ideologi penerjemahan yang dipilih dan pengaruhnya terhadap penerjemahan kata bermuatan budaya dalam TSu. Unit datanya adalah kata dan frasa yang bermuatan budaya. Datadiambil dari bab dua bagian keenam novel The Seed and the Sower. Dalam penelitian ini, ditemukan bahwa teknik penerjemahan yang paling banyak muncul adalah teknik amplifikasi. Kesalahan tata bahasa dalam TSu lebih baik diterjemahkan menjadi tata bahasa yang salah juga dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Dari temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan teknik penerjemahan dalam menerjemahkan satu teks dapat berbeda-beda tergantung skoposnya. Ideologi pengasingan juga lebih unggul dalam terjemahan, tetapi pada dasarnya kedua ideologi dapat digunakan bersamaan apabila sesuai dengan tujuan penerjemahan.

This thesis is about the translation of The Seed and the Sower novel from English to Indonesia along with its annotation to give an explanation about the equivalent words used to face translation problems especially in the culture of South Africa and Japanese, and also the grammar mistake made deliberately in the source text. The novel is chosen because it has a lot of cultural elements because a variety of cultures are involved. It also has a lot of communication situations in which foreigners speak broken English grammar due to the storys background situation. The purpose of this research is to make a translation which is true to its skopos and to be responsible to the translation with the proper annotation. The researcher is dealing with three problems in this research: 1 translation problems faced while translating the source text, 2 translation techniques used for the translation, and 3 translation ideology chosen and its effect on translating cultural terms. The unit data are words and phrases which have culturalmeaning. The data are taken from the second chapter and sixth section of the novel. The finding shows that translation technique with most appearance is amplification technique. The broken grammar that appears in the source text is also better to be translated in broken Indonesian grammar. From the finding, it can be concluded that different translation technique can be used to translate a text, depending on the skopos. In addition, foreignisation is the superior ideology for translation, but the two translationideologies can basically used alternately if it suits the translations goal."

Anotasi ini juga menjelaskan alasan penerjemah menggunakan teori, metode, dan prosedur tertentu di dalam terjemahannya. Permasalahan yang kerap muncul dalam menerjemahkan novel ini adalah kata-kata umpatan, istilah psikologi, istilah warna, simile, peribahasa, dan idiom. Permasalahan itu dapat diatasi dengan menggunakan prosedur penerjemahan Newmark dengan melibatkan sejumlah teori penerjemahan dari beberapa ahli, seperti Beekman dan Callow serta Nida dan Taber. Penelitian ini menggunakan perpaduan beberapa metode, yaitu metode harfiah, bebas, dan komunikatif. Metode harfiah dan metode bebas diterapkan pada tahap restrukturisasi untuk menafsirkan teks yang sulit dan membantu penerjemah melihat masalah yang perlu diatasi. Sementara itu, metode komunikatif diterapkan pada tahap evaluasi dan revisi untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang muncul sehingga dapat menghasilkan terjemahan yang lebih natural, wajar, dan berterima di BSa. Penerjemah harus membekali diri dengan pengetahuan mendalam sebelum menerjemahkan teks sumber. Pengetahuan itu tidak terbatas hanya pada pengetahuan tentang penerjemahan, tetapi juga pengetahuan tentang novel. Pengetahuan itu dapat membantu penerjemah ketika menerjemahkan dan menganotasi teks sumber. Ketelitian dan pemahaman yang jelas sangat dibutuhkan dalam proses penerjemahan untuk menghindari kesalahan tafsir. Hal yang terpenting dalam menerjemahkan novel ini adalah mempertahankan gaya bahasa penulis novel di dalam terjemahan untuk membuat TSa seekspresif TSu. Akan tetapi, mempertahankan gaya bahasa penulis bukan berarti penerjemah menjadi setia pada TSu dan mengabaikan sistem bahasa, budaya dan norma BSa.

Thesis annotations also explain the translator‟s reasons for using certain theories, methods, and procedures in her translation. The problems that emerge in translating this novel are curse words, psychology terms, color terms, similes, proverbs, and idioms. The problems can be solved by using the translation procedures of Newmark and a set of translation theories of some experts, such as Beekman and Callow as well as Nida and Taber. This research uses a combination of literal, free, and communicative methods. The literal and the free method are applied in the restructure process to interpret difficult texts and to help the translator observe issues that need to be handled. Meanwhile, the communicative method is applied in the evaluation and revision process to solve the problems so that a translation which is more natural and more appropriate is produced. The translator should have a deep knowledge before translating the source text. The knowledge is not only limited to the knowledge of translation, but also knowledge about a novel. The knowledge can help translator translate and annotate the source text better. The accurateness and the deep understanding are really required in the translation process to avoid misinterpretation. The most important thing in translating this novel is to maintain the idiolect of the writer to make the target text as expressive as the source text. "Penelitian ini menjabarkan pemilihan kata yang digunakan penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan kata bermuatan budaya pada novel. Novel yang digunakan adalah novel berbahasa Inggris dan memiliki latar belakang budaya Venesia. Novel The Glassblower of Murano akan diterjemahkan ke bahasa Indonesia dan diberikan anotasi. Anotasi atau catatan adalah bentuk pertangggungjawaban seorang penerjemah dalam menerjemakan kata bermuatan budaya yang ada pada novel. Metode penerjemahan yang digunakan adalah metode komunikatif mengacu pada teks sumber yang merupakan teks ekspresif. Teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan adalah teknik deskripsi, amplifikasi, adaptasi, peminjaman, kalke, kreasi diskursif, dan kompensasi. Selain itu, penerjemah juga mencari padanan yang tepat dengan menggunakan sumber internet dan studi pustaka. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan, kata bermuatan budaya dapat diterjemahkan ke teks sasaran dengan teknik penerjemahan yang berbeda pada tiap katanya. This study explains translators words choice in translating cultural words in the novel titled The Glassblower of Murano. The novel is written in English but sets Venice as its.cultural background. In this research, the novel will be translated into Indonesian and annotations will be added. Annotations or footnote is translators liability in translating cultural words within the novel. This research uses a communicative translating method that positions sources text as expressive text. Meanwhile, the translation techniques that is used are description, amplification, adaptation, borrowing, calqeu, discursive creation, and compensation. In addition, the translator also elaborates internet and literature sources in order to receive appropriate equivalent words. This research concludes each cultural words can be translated into the target text with a varied translation techniques. Therefore, the choice of cultural words toward the target text should be obtain from accurate source of information, thus the target may able to gain understanding."

Novel anak ini dipilih berdasarkan ketertarikan penerjemah pada karakter Frannie yang memiliki imajinasi tinggi dan gaya bahasa yang khas serta latar budaya yang khas Amerika Serikat. Penerjemahan dilakukan dengan metode semantis dan komunikatif agar terlihat indah dan alami, serta makna kontekstual dapat diterima dan dipahami pembaca sasaran. Dalam anotasi terjemahannya, dibahas beberapa prosedur penerjemahan yang diterapkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan pemadanan. Selanjutnya, saya merujuk pada pelbagai kamus, mengunjungi laman di Internet, dan melakukan wawancara. Banyak hal yang harus dipertimbangkan agar terjemahan menjadi wajar dan berterima dalam budaya BSa anak-anak. Oleh karena itu, pemahaman mengenai metode dan prosedur penerjemahan menjadi acuan bagi saya dalam menerjemahkan.

An annotated translation is a translation done by providing annotations about the discussion of translation problems and solutions, both in terms of linguistic and socio-cultural. The purpose of the annotations is to justify the choices of translation which have been made by the translator. This annotated translation will discuss the translation on Frankly, Frannie! novel by AJ. Stern into Indonesian. Children's novel was selected based on the translator's interest of Frannie's character that has a unique imagination and language style and also contains American background culture.

The method used in translating are semantic and communicative methods to look beautiful and natural, and the contextual meaning can be accepted and understood by the target readers. In doing annotations, translation techniques applied to solve equivalent problems. Furthermore, I refer to various dictionaries, visit the web sites, and conduct interviews. Many things must be considered to be reasonable and acceptable translation in children's TL culture. Therefore, the understanding of methods and procedures of translation becomes a reference for me in translating."

Dalam melakukan anotasi, saya menggunakan serangkaian strategipenerjemahan dari Newmark.Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa judul TSu dapat diterjemahkan kedalam BSa jika judul tersebut berpotensi tidak menarik bagi pembaca sasaran.Selanjutnya, penelitian ini menyarankan untuk mempertahankan kesalahan dalampenggunaan bahasa oleh tokoh yang merupakan orang asing di dalam novel ini.Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa penghilangan makna kata, frasa ataukalimat dapat dilakukan jika makna kata, frasa dan kalimat tersebut berpotensimembingungkan pembaca karena tiba-tiba muncul dan penghilangan itu tidakmemengaruhi jalan cerita novel itu. Selanjutnya penelitian ini juga menemukanbahwa penerjemah dapat memilih padanan yang sedekat mungkin dengan TSuTerjemahan beranotasi..., Trisna Dewy, FIB UI, 2015xvi Universitas Indonesiajika tidak ada padanan yang sama dengan TSu misalnya council diterjemahkanmenjadi dewan kota.

ABSTRACTThis research is a research of translation with annotations. In this study Itranslated part of a novel Various Pets Alive & Dead by Marina Lewycka andannotated some parts of the source text which I think difficult and challenging. Intranslating this novel, I used the method of semantic and communicativetranslation. The semantic translation method is used to translate words, phrasesand sentences that are closely related to the source culture, language and thecharacters in the novel, such as the incorrect English pronunciation by a foreignerin England and foreign terms. While the communicative method is used totranslate words, phrases or sentences that has equivalence in the target language,for example, the term of government institutions, and cultural terms. Inannotating, I used translation strategies by Newmark.After doing this research, I found that the title of a source text can betranslated into the target language if the original title is not appealing to the targetaudience. Furthermore, this study suggests the importance of maintainingidiosyncratic language of a foreigner speaking a language in the target text as thisis a special characteristic of the character in the novel.
