"This book is a comprehensive account of imaging of acute appendicitis and other appendiceal diseases. Background information is first provided on clinical presentation, perforation and negative appendectomy rates, and treatment options. The role of each imaging modality – radiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI – is then considered separately in adults and children with suspected acute appendicitis. Many high-quality illustrations are included, and detailed information is provided on appropriate protocols and radiation saving. Further chapters addresses the spontaneously resolving and chronic appendicitis as well as other appendiceal lesions and review the findings of evidence-based medicine and cost-effectiveness analyses. Emergency physicians, pediatricians, surgeons, and radiologists will all find this book to be an excellent source of information and guidance."

"Encompassing the entire spectrum of breast imaging and diagnostics, this acclaimed text provides a systematic and pragmatic guide for all clinicians involved in diagnosing breast disease. The new third edition has been fully updated to include advances in mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI, percutaneous interventions, and emerging technologies, with pros and cons and evidence-based approaches throughout. Special features of the third edition: Coverage of the field, with comprehensive sections on examination procedures and technical requirements; histologic, clinical, and radiologic appearance of a wide range of breast pathologies; results of international screening studies; and much more. Nearly 1,200 clear radiographic images showing normal findings, benign and malignant disorders, and post-traumatic, post-surgical, and post-therapeutic changes to the breast. Innovations in digital mammography, tomosynthesis, and computer assisted detection (CAD); new chapters on imaging of implants, lesions of uncertain malignant potential, developing technologies; and more. A systematic, highly reproducible methodology for detection, diagnosis, and assessment of findings. Easy-to-follow flowcharts for the diagnostic work-up of both typical and atypical cases. Written by world-renowned authorities with decades of clinical experience, this book provides a brilliant orientation to the multimodality diagnostic approach and therapeutic significance of breast imaging findings. It is an essential reference and board review for radiologists, residents and fellows, gynecologists, oncologists, surgeons, technologists, and any other interdisciplinary specialist working to improve outcomes in breast disease"

Cancer is still one of the most common and lethal diseases known by humans throughout the years. Breast cancer is the most common one, which leads in terms of causes of cancer death. Early cancer detection is crucial so that effective treatment can be done when the cancer is still mild and in the early stages with higher chances of healing. The benefits of the Terahertz spectrum fulfill the need for a safe cancer detection method that still produces great imaging results. Various techniques for cancer imaging have been developed to create terahertz imaging systems, including an antenna used for the system. Still, there are only a few studies that investigated the phenomenon and challenges occurred in this field of research. This research studies the propagation phenomenon of terahertz wave on breast cancer object by simulating several scheme variation. Variation such as polarization, distance, and tissue type is considered in this study. The best variation is determined by considering qualitative and quantitative aspects, both using plane wave and antenna source. The best polarization is polarization xy with standard deviation of 7.519. The best distance between source to object is 11.5 mm with standard deviation of 12.317. The best distance between sensor to object is 0.5 mm with standard deviation of 10.966. The best distance between source and sensor to object is 11.5 mm and 0.5 mm with standard deviation of 14.956. Different types of tissue take effect to the imaging result where material with different dielectric constant results in different results quantitatively and qualitatively. This research can be used as a consideration and reference for other researchers to determine the best specification when creating a THz imaging system."

"Imaging is crucial in the multidisciplinary approach to head and neck cancer management. The rapid technological development of recent years makes it necessary for all members of the multidisciplinary team to understand the potential applications, limitations, and advantages of existing and evolving imaging technologies. It is equally important that the radiologist has sufficient clinical background knowledge to understand the clinical significance of imaging findings. This book provides an overview of the findings obtained using different imaging techniques during the evaluation of head and neck neoplasms, both before and after therapy. All anatomic areas in the head and neck are covered, and the impact of imaging on patient management is discussed in detail. The authors are recognized experts in the field, and numerous high-quality images are included. This second edition provides information on the latest imaging developments in this area, including the application of PET-CT and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging.

"Efficiency is the key word at the heart of the concept for this diagnostic atlas - efficiency of presentation and diagnostic efficiency achieved through its use. The contents are arranged in chapters according to organ or body part. Each chapter begins with a list of the radiographic findings referring to the relevant table/page number for that finding. The text within these tables is presented under three columns: possible diagnoses, radiographic findings, and general comments. Corresponding sample images of the highest quality are then provided for the more common conditions throughout. Rare diseases are marked with asterisks and are illustrated where appropriate. The hard-pressed radiologist will welcome this work as an efficient and reliable guide to the interpretation of pediatric images"--Provided by publisher"
