"Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with its capability in integrating spatial and attribute data, becomes important means in visualisation and analysis built environment. Good visualization capability of GIS has made this technology an important communication tool. In this research, a 3D City Block Model of Simpang Lima Area has been made. This research make us of digital topographic map of Semarang, scale 1:5000 which cover Simpang Lima and its surrounding.Digital terrain model of the area was made by interpolate contour lines and spot hights. ArcView 3.2a with 3D analyst extension was used to construct buildings block model. Result from 3D Analyst when then exported into VRML format (Virtual Reality Modeling Language). Buildings block model in VRML format could be viewed using Internet Explorer ver. 5.0 or later, if it is equipped with Cosmo Player plug in. A 3D City Block Model of Simpang Lima Area, has been obtained. Users can be obtain information about characteristic of each building in the study area. Users can simulate if a new building have been built and see the effect to the visibility to its surrounding. Use of VRML format has advantages that users who do not have GIS software can still explore the virtual 3D city model interactively; even they can define their own direction of 'virtual walking'."

"Perencanaan tata ruang sebagai dasar pembangunan suatu wilayah, memerlukan informasi spasial yang akurat dan lengkap agar hasil perencanaan tata ruang yang dihasilkan tepat sasaran. Peta dasar rupa bumi sebagai informasi spasial utama di Indonesia pada umumnya menggunakan sumber data foto udara. Perkembangan teknologi penginderaan jauh akhir-akhir ini telah dapat mengasilkan citra satelit dengan resolusi spasial yang tinggi. Salah satunya adalah Citra ALOS PRISM dengan resolusi 2.5 m. Pemetaan rupa bumi skala 1:25.000 menggunakan Citra ALOS PRISM tersebut menghasilkan peta rupabumi dengan tingkat akurasi Horizontal (x,y) yang baik secara relatif terhadap peta RBI (Rupa Bumi Indonesia) skala 1:25.000 dan secara absolut terhadap hasil pengukuran di lapangan. Sementara tingkat akurasi vertikal-nya dapat memenuhi standar pemetaan nasional hanya pada wilayah topografi datar tetapi tidak dapat memenuhi standar pada wilayah topografi bergelombang dan bergunung.

Spatial planning as the foundation of spatial development needs the accurate and complete spatial information so the results could meet the aim. Topographic map is one of the main spatial information that generally uses the source of the aerial photograph data. Recent development of remote sensing technology produce the satellite image with the high spatial resolution. One of them is ALOS PRISM with the spatial resolution 2.5 m. Topographic mapping at various topographic area using ALOS PRISM image has produced map at scale 1:25.000 with the level of the Horizontal accuracy (x,y) that was relatively good against the RBI map at the scale 1:25.000 and absolutely towards ground-surveyed reference points. While the level of it’s vertical accuracy could meet the standard of the national mapping only on the flat area but could not meet the standard on undulating and mountainous area."

"Sistem Informasi / Teknologi Informasi (S/TI) dapat mendukung secara penuh bisnis perusahaan sehingga dapat menjalankan misi dan mencapai visi yang diharapkan. S/TI membutuhkan perencanaan yang matang dan strategis untuk dapat menghasilkan keunggulan yang kompetitif. Banyak perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia tidak memiliki perencanaan yang strategis dalam menggunakan S/TI-nya. Tesis ini membahas mengenai bagaimana bentuk model kerangka kerja (framework model) perencanaan strategis sistem informasi / teknologi informasi untuk perusahaan properti.Analisis dan interpretasi data yang dilakukan peneliti menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif. Metode analisis ini cenderung menggunakan pendekatan logika induktif, di mana silogisme dibangun berdasarkan pada hal-hal khusus atau data di lapangan yang bermuara pada kesimpulan-kesimpulan umum.Hasil dari Tesis ini berupa Model Kerangka Kerja yang terdiri dari Bentuk Proses Pembuatan Perencanaan Strategis S/TI dan Bentuk Struktur Dokumen Perencanaan Strategis S/TI untuk perusahaan bidang bisnis properti. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat membantu perusahaan bidang bisnis properti dalam membuat Perencanaan Strategis S/TI-nya untuk mencitakan keunggulan kompetitif supaya dapat bersaing. Kebutuhan Perencanaan Strategis S/TI untuk Perusahaan bidang bisnis properti sangat diperlukan.Saran untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut, yaitu Perencanaan Strategis S/TI sebaiknya lebih difokuskan untuk kegiatan strategi bersaing (competitive advantage), walaupun dalam pelaksanaannya tidak mudah untuk mendapatkan suatu kekuatan bersaing. Ini mengingat tingkat persaingan yang semakin ketat. Perencanaan Strategis S/TI juga sebaiknya lebih diikutsertakan pada saat Perencanaan Strategi Bisnis, agar program kerja dan sasaran bisnis dari setiap unit kerja di dalam struktur organisasi semakin jelas. Mengingat perkembangan teknologi yang kian cepat, sebaiknya perencanaan strategis S/TI dievaluasi tiap tahunnya. Ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh peluang baru melalui penerapan teknologi.

Information System / Information Technology is able to completely support a business of company to persue its mission and achieve its vision. IS/T requires matured planning and strategies to provide competitive advantage. Many indonesian companies don?t have good strategic of planning in using there IS/T. This Tesis explains how is type of information system / information technology strategic planning framework model for property company.Interpretation and analysis data that done by writer is using qualitative analysis method. This method inclines to used logical inductive approach, which is silogicly built by special matter or data stuaried to common armful suggestions.The result of this Tesis is Framework Model that contains Type of Making Process IS/T Strategic Planning and Type of IS/T Strategic Planning Document Structure for property company. Hoped of the result is to support property company in its IS/T Strategic Planning to provide competitive advantage. Using of IS/T Strategic Planning for property company is very useful.Next suggestion, Used of IS/T has to be more focused for competitive advantage, eventhough it is difficult in getting of it. It reminds how difficult to be opposite of other companies. It is excelent if IS/T Strategic Planning fills Business Strategic, so the target of busines unit in organization structure could be more clearly. Rever to how fast is technology built, it would be great if IS/T evaluated in every single year. This could make new opportunity with technology approach."

"Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) pada umumnya diasosiasikan dengan suatu peta. Pada peta, informasi yang terkandung di dalamnya dapat beragam, sesuai kebutuhan pembuat atau pengguna. Seiring dengan perkembangan media digital dan bentuk komunikasinya, aplikasi SIG juga berkembang dengan makin memudahkan diakses dan tersebarnya informasi. Hal ini ditandai dengan munculnya berbagai aplikasi peta online, salah satunya adalah Google Maps. Penggunaan Google Maps yang dapat dikostumisasi dengan menyediakan API dapat dimanfaatkan untuk membentuk suatu aplikasi SIG mengenai kondisi geografis dan sosial kampus Universitas Indonesia (UI) Depok. Pada skripsi ini akan dibahas mengenai tahapan-tahapan yang diperlukan dalam membuat suatu aplikasi SIG berbasis web.

As most people are familiar with, online map could be find within the internet, one of which is Google Maps. Google maps' feature to customize with its API can be use to create a web based GIS application about University of Indonesia (UI). This thesis will discuss about the steps that are necessary to build a web based GIS application, ranging from the planning to the implementation."
