"The web is changing from a web of documents to a web of data; from a web that can be read by humans, to one that can be read by machines. These are fascinating advances for anyone interested in the changing nature of the web and the way we access information. The technologies being forged in this new landscape will provide a host of opportunities for library and information professionals to shape the information landscape of the future. This book is a wide-ranging introduction to the emerging web of data and the semantic web, exploring technologies including APIs, microformats and linked data. Its topical commentary and practical examples drawn from the international LIS community explore how information professionals can harness the power of this new phenomenon to inform strategy and become facilitators of access to data. Key topics covered include: open data: a semantic web - one that's meaningful to computers data silos; the semantic web- the RDF vision embedded semantics; and, the library and the web of data the future of the librarian and the web of data. ... This is essential reading for library and information professionals and for LIS students and researchers. It will also be of value to information architects, web developers and all those interested in making sure that people have access to the information they need."

"Technological advances are enabling scientists to collect vast amounts of data in fields such as medicine, remote sensing, astronomy, and high-energy physics. These data arise not only from experiments and observations, but also from computer simulations of complex phenomena. They are often complex, with both spatial and temporal components. As a result, it has become impractical to manually explore, analyze, and understand the data. Scientific Data Mining: A Practical Perspective describes how techniques from the multi-disciplinary field of data mining can be used to address the modern problem of data overload in science and engineering domains."

The technique has been widely used to protect a data base is the use of username and password. To reduce the success rate of infiltration into the database, namely strings usually added salt is added to the password at login. At a certain level of information, protection of databases is not enough just to use username, salt and password. There should be other mechanisms that would prevent easy entry into the database for an intruder. This writing aims to do the design and implementation of the theory of security in web-based database applications on intranets by adding network access control module that is expected to provide greater protection against database application from intruders. Tests on the system states that the access control module can be run either with a success rate reached 100%. Delay caused by a longer authentication process makes the response time increases about 2.14 seconds from about 0.004 seconds, but still within the permitted limits."

"[The University of Arizona Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI Lab) Dark Web project is a long-term scientific research program that aims to study and understand the international terrorism (Jihadist) phenomena via a computational, data-centric approach. We aim to collect "ALL" web content generated by international terrorist groups, including web sites, forums, chat rooms, blogs, social networking sites, videos, virtual world, etc. We have developed various multilingual data mining, text mining, and web mining techniques to perform link analysis, content analysis, web metrics (technical sophistication) analysis, sentiment analysis, authorship analysis, and video analysis in our research. The approaches and methods developed in this project contribute to advancing the field of Intelligence and Security Informatics (ISI). Such advances will help related stakeholders to perform terrorism research and facilitate international security and peace.
This monograph aims to provide an overview of the Dark Web landscape, suggest a systematic, computational approach to understanding the problems, and illustrate with selected techniques, methods, and case studies developed by the University of Arizona AI Lab Dark Web team members. This work aims to provide an interdisciplinary and understandable monograph about Dark Web research along three dimensions : methodological issues in Dark Web research, database and computational techniques to support information collection and data mining, and legal, social, privacy, and data confidentiality challenges and approaches. , The University of Arizona Artificial Intelligence Lab (AI Lab) Dark Web project is a long-term scientific research program that aims to study and understand the international terrorism (Jihadist) phenomena via a computational, data-centric approach. "In this book, the editors present an overall overview and comparison of the main current evaluation initiatives for SWS. The presentation is divided into four parts, each referring to one of the evaluation initiatives. Part I covers the long-established first two tracks of the Semantic Service Selection (S3) Contest – the OWL-S matchmaker evaluation and the SAWSDL matchmaker evaluation. Part II introduces the new S3 Jena Geography Dataset (JGD) cross evaluation contest. Part III presents the semantic web service challenge. Lastly, Part IV reports on the semantic aspects of the web service challenge. The introduction to each part provides an overview of the evaluation initiative and overall results for its latest evaluation workshops. The following chapters in each part, written by the participants, detail their approaches, solutions and lessons learned."

Vital Registration System Web-Based Applications is an application system that helps officers of civil registration record significant events (births, deaths and marriages) at the village level.
This thesis aims to design applications vital registration systems that support the needs of vital registration records clerk at the village level, resulting in a database of demographic and population information about important events.
Information system development methods used in this study is a phased development that starts from the analysis phase and the user system, creation of a global design and manufacture of prototype.
Until now, the implementation of civil registration in the Village Kemirimuka still done manually and can not see the vital statistics in real time. Implementation of reporting is still frequently experience delays. Therefore, research Vital Registration System Web-Based Applications at the Village Level conceived to help solve problems in the field.
