"Daerah Cisolok, Sukabumi menjadi salah satu lapangan panas bumi yang memiliki manifestasi panas bumi seperti travertine, geyser dan hot pool. Keberadaan panas bumi ini memperlihatkan prospek dari adanya alterasi dan mineralisasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi tipe dan persebaran suatu mineralisasi dan alterasi yang ada pada daerah penelitian, membuat model penampang alterasi, dan mengidentifikasi tingkat akurasi metode citra satelit dengan data lapangan yang diperoleh. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan antara lain analisis data citra satelit seperti metode FFD, LST, dan PCA, lalu digunakan juga penelitian lapangan dan data lapangan tersebut dianalisis lebih lanjut dengan menggunakan analisis petrografi dan XRD. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis alterasi yang ada pada daerah penelitian antara lain alterasi argilik, propilitik, dan filik. Hal ini dapat diidentifikasi melalui hasil kombinasi dari analisis petrografi, XRD, dan PCA. Tipe mineralisasi pada daerah penelitian adalah mineralisasi pirit yang diidentifikasi melalui hasil analisis petrografi dan XRD. Nilai akurasi metode FFD, LST, dan PCA dengan data penelitian lapangan pada daerah penelitian memiliki akurasi yang kurang baik, sedang, dan cukup baik. Hal ini disesuaikan dengan tingkat kesamaan dari hasil korelasi antara data lapangan dengan metode citra satet yang digunakan. Model penampang alterasi hidrotermal daerah penelitian memiliki sebaran tipe alterasi yang ditarik melalui satu garis penampang.

The Cisolok area, Sukabumi is one of the geothermal fields that has geothermal manifestations such as travertines, geysers and hot pools. The existence of this geothermal shows the prospect of alteration and mineralization. The purpose of this study is to identify the type and distribution of mineralization and alteration in the study area, create a cross-sectional model of alteration, and identify the accuracy of the satellite imagery method with the obtained field data. The research methods that will be used include analysis of satellite image data such as the FFD, LST, and PCA methods, then field research is also used and the field data is further analyzed using petrographic analysis and XRD. The results showed that the types of alteration that existed in the study area were argillic, propylitic, and philic alterations. This can be identified through the combined results of petrographic analysis, XRD, and PCA. The type of mineralization in the study area is pyrite mineralization which was identified through the results of petrographic and XRD analysis. The accuracy values ​​of the FFD, LST, and PCA methods with field research data in the research area have poor, moderate, and quite good accuracy. This is adjusted to the level of similarity of the results of the correlation between the field data and the satellite image method used. The cross-sectional model of hydrothermal alteration in the study area has a distribution of alteration types drawn through one cross-sectional line."

"It begins by solving a famous puzzle of the ancient world, which is what was responsible for the tsunami that destroyed settlements in the eastern Mediterranean in 365 AD. By radiocarbon dating of preserved marine organisms, Shaw demonstrates that the whole of western Crete was lifted out of the sea by up to 10 meters in a massive earthquake at that time, which occured on a previously unknown fault. The author shows that the resulting tsunami would have the characteristics described by ancient writers, and uses modern GPS measurements and coastline geomorphology to show that the strain build-up near Crete requires such a tsunami-earthquake about every 6.000 years. A detailed seismological study of earthquakes in the Cretan arc over the last 50 years reveals other important features of its behaviour that were previously unknown. Finally, she provides fundamental insights into the limitations of radiocarbon dating marine organisms, relating to how they secrete carbon into their skeletons. "

"Daerah Ganda-Ganda, Morowali Utara merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil bijih nikel di Indonesia dari endapan laterit. Endapan laterit tersebut dihasilkan dari pelapukan batuan ultramafik (batuan asal). Pada area penelitian terdapat pada Komplek Ultramafik dari Jalur Ofiolit Sulawesi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi endapan laterit, karakteristik batuan ultramafik, dan asosiasinya terhadap tektonik dari sampel batuan asal daerah penelitian. Metode yang digunakan yakni analisis petrografi, X-Ray diffraction (XRD), dan energy dispersive X-Ray fluorescence (EDXRF). Profil terdiri atas limonit dan saprolit hingga rocky saprolite. Komposisi mineral profil limonit didominasi goetit dan gibbsit. Saprolit didominasi antigorit, talk, lizardit, dan nakrit. Batuan asal didominasi mineral silikat. Jenis batuan ultramafiknya meliputi lherzolit terserpentinisasi, harzburgit terserpentinisasi, olivin websterit terserpentinisasi, dan serpentinit. Secara geokimia semua batuan ultramafik berkomposisi lherzolit. Semua batuan hadir mikrotekstur mesh. Banyak mineral olivin dan piroksen di batuan asal telah terubah menjadi mineral serpentin. Mikrotekstur serpentinit mencangkup tekstur mesh pada lizardit, tekstur relict pada olivin, tekstur veinlet mineral krisotil, dan tekstur decussate mineral antigorit. Komposisi batuan asal dominan tersusun atas mineral olivin, lizardit, dan piroksen. Batuan ultramafik daerah penelitian berasosiasi dengan tektonik supra-subduction zone (SSZ) yang dominan hingga mid-oceanic ridge basalt (MORB) dengan seri magma tholeiite.

The Ganda-Ganda area, North Morowali is one of the nickel ore producing areas in Indonesia from laterite deposits. Laterite deposits are produced from the weathering of ultramafic rocks (source rocks). The research area is in the Ultramafic Complex of the Sulawesi Ophiolite Belt. This research aims to determine the composition of laterite deposits, the characteristics of ultramafic rocks, and their association with tectonics from the source rock samples from the research area. The methods used are petrographic analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF). The profile consists of limonite and saprolite to rocky saprolite. The mineral composition of the limonite profile is dominated by goethite and gibbsite. Saprolite is dominated by antigorite, talc, lizardite, and nacrite. The source rocks are dominated by silicate minerals. Ultramafic rock types include serpentinized lherzolite, serpentinized harzburgite, serpentinized olivine websterite, and serpentinite. Geochemically, all ultramafic rocks fall in the lherzolite composition. All rocks have mesh microtexture. Many of the olivine and pyroxene minerals of the source rock have been altered into serpentine minerals. Serpentinite microtextures include the mesh texture of lizardite, the relict texture of olivine, the veinlet texture of chrysotile, and the decussate texture antigorite. The dominant composition of the source rocks consists of olivine, lizardite and pyroxene minerals. Ultramafic rocks in the study area are dominantly associated with supra-subduction zone (SSZ) tectonics to mid-oceanic ridge basalt (MORB) with a tholeiite magma series."
