"Wireless Sensor Network merupakan sebuah sistem yang mampu me-monitoring keadaan di berbagai titik (area) menjadi sebuah data yang mampu diproses melalui suatu server. Xbee Series 2 Pro merupakan modul radio yang berfungsi sebagai komunikasi antarnode agar jangkauan monitoring dapat lebih luas. Pada skripsi ini didesain sebuah sistem penerangan jalan menggunakan software Proteus dimana memanfaatkan Xbee series pro 2 sebagai transmisi antar node. Komunikasi serial wireless yang didesain pada sistem penerangan jalan ini menggunakan mode API, dimana setiap data yang dikirim antar node untuk berkomunikasi berupa sebuah frame data. Dalam skripsi ini, dibuat sebuah model pengendalian penerangan jalan umum dengan menggunakan tiga node dimana terdiri dari satu buah server dan dua buah client. Dari sistem jaringan yang dibuat tersebut, ada beberapa parameter performansi yang diujikan, yaitu protokol komunikasi antar zigbee, kualitas daya sinyal yang diterima, konsumsi daya, dan jangkauan jaringan.

Wireless Sensor Network is a system which capable of monitoring environment condition on few points into a data which able to be processed through a server. XBee Series 2 Pro is a radio module that serves as the communication each node that may be broader monitoring coverage. In this paper, it will be designed a street lighting system using Proteus software which utilizes pro XBee series 2 as a transmission between nodes. Wireless serial communication designed the street lighting system using API mode, where each data sent each node to communicate in the form of a data frame.

In this thesis, a model of street lighting system has been made consist of three nodes which is two of them are clients and the other is server. From this system, there is few parameters which is tested. Those parameters are communication protocol between server and clients, RSSI, power consumption, and network coverage."
