"Struktur podium dan tower seringkali dimodelkan secara terpisah dan diasumsikan terjepit di atap podium untuk memudahkan perhitungan. Pada penulisan ini akan dilakukan analisis dinamik 3D pada struktur podium multi tower secara utuh dan terpisah dengan bantuan program ETABS untuk mengetahui karakteristik dinamik dari struktur tersebut. Metode respons spektrum digunakan untuk mengetahui gaya geser pada bagian dasar dan setiap lantai yang diakibatkan oleh gempa berdasarkan peraturan SNI 1726:2012. Pada penelitian ini dibuat struktur podium dengan dua tower, tiga tower, dan empat tower dengan bentuk tipikal dan memiliki keteraturan yang baik. Dari hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa periode getar struktur podium multi tower lebih ditentukan oleh periode getar dari sub-struktur tower yang tertinggi atau struktur yang memiliki kekakuan lebih kecil. Hasil analisis juga menunjukkan nilai gaya geser pada analisis utuh nilainya lebih besar dibandingkan dengan analisis secara terpisah. Distribusi gaya geser per lantai juga memiliki pola yang berbeda antara analisis utuh dan terpisah. Pada analisis utuh, distribusi gaya geser per lantai menunjukkan pola yang tidak beraturan dan terjadi penurunan gaya geser pada beberapa lantai tertentu. Hal ini disebabkan karena kontribusi dari mode yang tinggi (higher mode) yang lebih dominan dibandingkan dengan mode lainnya.

A mixed-use building concept in structural can be interpret as a podium with several towers, which common in analyzing modeled separately by means the towers assumed to be fixed at podium?s roof level. In this study, 3D dynamic analysis will be performed by ETABS program to find out the dynamic charasteristics and shear force from each of tower with response spectrum method according to SNI 1726:2012. The structure consists of podium with two towers, three towers, and four towers which have typical form and good regularity. The analysis results show that the period of vibration of multi tower structure more dominate by the period of vibration from the sub-structure that have the highest tower or from the structure that have small stiffness. The shear force from the complete analysis bigger than the separate analysis. The story shears in complete analysis also have an irregular pattern and decreasing in certain story. This irregular pattern in story shears is caused by the higher mode of the structure."

"This book presents a simple analytical method based on the extended rod theory that allows the earthquake resistance of high-rise buildings to be easily and accurately evaluated at the preliminary design stage. It also includes practical software for applying the extended rod theory to the dynamic analysis of actual buildings and structures.
High-rise buildings in large cities, built on soft ground consisting of sedimentary rock, tend to have low natural frequency. If ground motion due to an earthquake occurs at distant hypocenters, the vibration wave can be propagated through several sedimentary layers and act on skyscrapers as a long-period ground motion, potentially producing a resonance phenomenon that can cause severe damage. Accordingly, there is a pressing need to gauge the earthquake resistance of existing skyscrapers and to improve their seismic performance.
This book was written by authors who have extensive experience in tall-building seismic design in Japan. The software included enables readers to perform dynamic calculations of skyscrapers resistance to vibrations. As such, it offers a valuable resource for practitioners and engineers, as well as students of civil engineering."
