Kementerian Kesehatan melalui Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan memiliki sasaran meningkatnya sediaan farmasi dan alat kesehatan yang memenuhi standar dan terjangkau oleh masyarakat. Praktek Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA) dilakukan pada 15 Juli - 26 Juli 2013 di Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan terutama di Direktorat Bina Obat Publik dan Perbekalan Kesehatan agar calon apoteker memperoleh gambaran tentang peran dan tugas apoteker mengenai pelayanan kefarmasian yang terkait dengan pemerataan, ketersediaan dan keterjangkauan obat dan perbekalan kesehatan.

The Strategic Plan of Ministry of Health in 2010 - 2014 is mandating Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices programs to improve the availability, equity, and affordability of medicines and medical devices as well as to ensure the safety or efficacy, usefulness, and quality of pharmaceutical preparations, medical devices, and food. The Ministry of Health through the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices has targeted to increase pharmaceutical preparations and health tools that meet the standards and are affordable. Pharmacists Internship Program (PIP) was conducted on July 16 to July 26, 2013 at the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices, especially at the Directorate of Public Medicines and Health Products, for pharmacist to gain an overview of the role and duties of pharmacists about pharmacy services related to equity, availability and affordability of medicines and medical supplies."

"Berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2009 tentang Kesehatan, Pemerintah bertanggung jawab untuk merencanakan, mengatur, menyelenggarakan, membina dan mengawasi penyelenggaraan upaya kesehatan yang merata dan terjangkau oleh masyarakat. Salah satu upaya kesehatan adalah dengan pelayanan kefarmasian, penyediaan obat dan vaksin serta penyediaan perbekalan kesehatan yang bermutu, terjangkau dan mudah diperoleh. Pelaksanaan pengelolaan obat publik dan perbekalan kesehatan diatur oleh Direktorat Bina Obat Publik dan Perbekalan Kesehatan yang merupakan bagian dari Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan. Agar dapat memahami tugas dan peran apoteker dibidang pemerintahan dengan baik, maka calon apoteker perlu melakukan Praktek Kerja Profesi Apoteker (PKPA) di salah satu instansi pemerintah yang berhubungan erat dengan dunia farmasi, dalam hal ini Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan, terutama di Direktorat Bina Obat Publik dan Perbekalan Kesehatan.

While the purpose of the special task is analysis of the ratio between generics drug price with trade names drug price in regional I, regional II, regional III at Republic of Indonesia."

"Direktorat Jenderal Bina Kefarmasian dan Alat Kesehatan memiliki sasaran utama yaitu menjamin semua sediaan farmasi, makanan, dan perbekalan kesehatan memenuhi syarat serta menjamin ketersediaan obat esensial dan alat kesehatan dasar di setiap daerah. Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices has the main goal to ensure all pharmaceutical preparations, foods, and medical supplies that is qualified and ensure the availability of essential drugs and basic medical equipment in each area. The availability of drugs and medical supplies is very fundamental and important. Therefore, it is necessary to make the arrangements of the availability regarding the fulfillment of both. The implementation of the management of public medicine and medical supplies organized by the Directorate of Public Medicines and Healthcare Products which is part of the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices.

Regarding the importance role of pharmacists in ensuring that medicines and medical supplies therefore a prospective Pharmacist Job Training (PKPA) is needed in the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices so that the prospective pharmacists would gain an overview of the role of the pharmacists in society in general and in the Directorate General of Pharmaceutical and Devices health in particular, especially in the Directorate of Public Medicines and Medical Supply."
