"ABSTRAKDalam skripsi, penelitian terhadap novel Tuan Direktur merupakan jenis penelitian sosiologi sastra yang bertujuan menjelaskan hubungan saling memengaruhi antara Islam (ideologi Hamka), Surabaya pada permulaan abad 20 (masyarakat), dengan konsep kekayaan dalam novel Tuan Direktur (karya). Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis, yaitu mendeskripsikan terlebih dahulu tokoh dan latar. Tokoh dibicarakan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep kekayaan melalui tokoh sentral. Latar dibicarakan untuk mendeskripsikan situasi baik secara fisik maupun sosial. Selanjutnya, deskripsi konsep kekayaan melalui tokoh sentral dan situasi fisik dan sosial melalui latar dianalisis secara sosiologis. Hasil analisis sosiologis menunjukkan bahwa konsep kekayaan tokoh sentral sangat dipengaruhi Islam dan latar fisik dan sosial juga dipengaruhi situasi Surabaya pada permulaan abad 20. Namun, latar fisik yang ditampilkan Hamka bukan deskripsi fisik Surabaya yang khas, melainkan deskripsi fisik Surabaya secara umum. Selain itu, deskripsi sosial masyarakat Surabaya pun tidak tampil melalui sistem hidup tokoh. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan, aspek Islam lebih dominan memengaruhi karya daripada aspek sosial.

ABSTRACTIn this paper, the research of Tuan Direktur is a kind of sociological literature which aims to explain the relationship between Islam (Ideology of Hamka), Surabaya in the early 20th century (society), and the concept of wealth in Tuan Direktur (novel). The method used is descriptive- analysis which firstly describes the figure and the background. The discussion about the figure is to describe the concept of wealth through the central figure. The discussion about the background is to describe the situation both physically and socially. Furthermore, the description of the concept of wealth through the central figure and the physical and social situation through analysis background sociologically. The result of sociological analysis show that the concept of wealth affects the central figure of Islam, and the physical and social background are also affected by the situation of Surabaya in the early of 20th century. However, the background of physically does not represent Surabaya, but it just shows the description of Surabaya in general. Besides, the description of society of Surabaya is not even shown in the figure’s life. Therefore, it concludes that Islamic aspect is more dominant than social aspect regarding to show creativity."

Novel Arab ini diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan judulWanita Terpasung: Gejolak Cinta di Balik Cadar. Novel ini menceritakan kehidupanseorang perempuan Saudi yang tidak meraskan kebebasan atas nama tradisi danagama. Penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif-analisis untuk mendeskripsikan lalumenganalisis data secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian alur dan tema yang terdapat didalam novel Ikhtilas beragam, penulis menemukan karakteristik, interaksi tokohmempengaruhi jalannya cerita dalam novel Ikhtilas. Selain itu, terdapat pula tematemacerita yang sangat beragam.

ABSTRACTThis paper discusses about plot in Ikhtilas novel by Hani Naqshabandi. Thisnovel, translated into Bahasa Indonesia as Wanita Terpasung: Gejolak Cinta diBalik Cadar. This novel is a novel that tells life of Saudi woman who never feelfreedom in the name of tradition and religion. "Skripsi ini membahas tentang tema dan amanat dalam novel Mendhung karya Yes Ismie Suryaatmadja. Untuk mengungkap tema dan amanat, terlebih dulu dilakukan analisis struktur dalam novel, yaitu alur; tokoh; dan latar, berdasarkan buku Memahami Cerita Rekaan oleh Panuti Sudjiman. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat satu tema utama dalam novel Mendhung yaitu perselingkuhan, serta dua tema sampingan yaitu kesenjangan sosial dan ketidakadilan jender. Amanat yang terdapat dalam novel Mendhung adalah ketidaksetiaan dapat membuat seseorang kehilangan segala yang dimilikinya, serta seorang laki-laki harus bersikap tegas.

This paper discusses about theme and mandate in novel Mendhung, Yes Ismie Suryaatmadja work. To reveal the theme and mandate, first do structure analysis of the novel, namely groove; character; and background, based on the book Memahami Cerita Rekaan by Panuti Sudjiman. Results from this research, there is a main theme in the novel Mendhung, that is affair, as well as two side themes, namely social inequalities and gender inequities. The mandate in novel Mendhung is infidelity can make someone lose everything, and a man had to be firm."

"Peristiwa 1965 adalah salah satu sejarah traumatis bangsa Indonesia yang memiliki dampak besar kepada perempuan. Disertasi ini menganalisis pengalaman traumatis dan perjuangan perempuan untuk sintas dalam novel Lasmi (2009) dan Istana Jiwa (2012). Karya sastra meniru mekanisme trauma untuk merepresentasikan peristiwa traumatis. Hal tersebut menyebabkan trauma bukan hanya ada pada tataran isi namun juga tecermin dalam strukturnya. Dengan menggunakan metode symptomatic reading, konsep fokalisasi (Bal, 2009), trauma (Caruth, 1996), dan gender (Millet, 2000) analisis dilakukan bukan hanya menggali makna yang ada dipermukaan teks melainkan mengungkap hal tidak disampaikan atau disembunyikan oleh teks. Trauma dalam tataran tekstual hadir melalui penceritaan yang tidak ajek dan alur yang fragmentaris. Bentuk narasi ini menekankan efek kejut, suasana tahu dan tidak tahu, dan ketidakpastian menunjukkan peristiwa 1965 sebagai peristiwa yang masih membingungkan dan tidak terakses. Melalui struktur narasi trauma, kedua teks merepresentasikan kesintasan sebagai penggambaran perempuan yang berdaya yang melawan dan bernegosiasi dengan opresi patriarki dan rezim Orde Baru. Kesintasan juga direpresentasikan sebagai kebungkaman yang harus disuarakan. Dengan demikian kesintasan dalam kedua teks tidak terbatas pada fisik yang selamat namun juga pada tersampaikannya suara perempuan.

The 1965 event is one of the traumatic histories of Indonesian which had a massive impact on women. This dissertation analyzes women's traumatic experience and their struggle to survive in Lasmi (2009) and Istana Jiwa (2012). Literary works mimic the mechanism of trauma to convey the traumatic experience. Thus, trauma occurs not only in its content but also in its structure. Employing symptomatic reading method, the concept of focalization (Bal, 2009), trauma (Caruth, 1996), and gender (Millet, 2000), the analysis is conducted by interpreting textual message as well as analyzing the hidden meanings of the text. The analysis shows that trauma is reflected from unsteady narration and fragmented plot. The structure emphasizes the shocking effect, knowing and not knowing, and uncertainty. The structure shows the 1965 event is still confusing and not accessible. Through the structure of the trauma narrative, the two texts represent survival as depictions of empowered women who fight and negotiate patriarchal oppression and the New Order regime. The survival is also represented as voicing a silence. Thus, the meaning of women survival is not limited to the physical survival but also to voicing women's voice."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang konflik batin tokoh Dubrovsky dalam novel Dubrovsky dalam Novel Дубровский/Dubrovsky karya Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin melalui pendekatan Psikologi. Pendekatan ini mengkaji tentang kejiwaan tokoh. Analisis terhadap novel Дубровский/Dubrovsky menggunakan teori Sigmund Freud mengenai Id, Ego, Superego. Melalui pendekatan ini dapat dilihat bahwa tokoh Dubrovsky mengalami konflik batin ketika ia ingin melakukan balas dendam namun ia jatuh cinta terhadap Maria Kirillovna. This study analyses the inner conflict of character in the novel Dubrovsky by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin with Psychology approach. This approach’s to study the psychological character. Analysis of the novel Dubrovsky is using Sigmund Freud's theories about the Id, Ego, Superego. "ABSTRACTTesis ini membahas novel Fight Club dalam konteks politik kelas pada masa kapitalisme lanjut. Fokus dari penelitian adalah melihat bagaimana novel transgresif tersebut berfungsi sebagai alat ideologis sistem kapitalisme dan sekaligus sebagai kritik implisit terhadap sistem tersebut. Novel dianalisis melalui perspektif Marxis menggunakan teori pembacaan political unconscious oleh Fredric Jameson. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Fight Club mengandung impulsimpuls utopia dengan mengkritik kontradiksi-kontradiksi kapitalisme lanjut seperti alienasi, reifikasi komoditas, dan konsumerisme. ABSTRACT

This thesis discusses Fight Club in the context of class politics of late capitalism. It explores how the transgressive novel can be interpreted as an ideological tool of capitalism as well as an implicit critique of the economic system. The novel is analyzed through Marxist perspective using Fredric Jameson?s theory of the political unconscious. It is concluded that Fight Club contains utopian impulses that criticize the contradictions of late capitalism such as alienation, reification, and consumerism, while at the same time contains the ideology of capitalism that makes the critique problematic."

Novel Danur sebagai bagian dari novel populer bergenre horor menyajikan tokoh-tokoh dengan ciri yang unik. Tokoh-tokoh tersebut di antaranya yaitu Peter, William, Hans, Hendrick, dan Janshen. Status mereka sebagai hantu-hantu Belanda merupakan hal utama yang menarik perhatian peneliti untuk meneliti tokoh-tokoh tersebut. Every figure in a literary work has a certain quality of character which distinguish it from other figures. Danur novel as part of the popular horror novel presents figures with the unique characteristics. These figures among them are Peter, William, Hans, Hendrick, and Janshen. Their status as the Dutch ghost is the main thing that attracted the attention of researcher to describe these figures. Therefore, this study is aimed to describe the character and characterization of Peter, William, Hans, Hendrick, and Janshen, including plot and background, which described in Danur novel. Based on this research, it was found a conclusion that Peter, William, Hans, Hendrick, and Janshen have humanistic characteristics and diverse one and the other."
