"ABSTRAKArtikel ini membahas mengenai unsur rasisme dalam kebijakan imigrasi Australia. Muncul hipotesa bahwa kebijakan imigrasi yang dikeluarkan pemerintah Australia di tahun 1996 hingga 2007 dipengaruhi oleh unsur rasisme dari beberapa pihak. Di tahun 1996, muncul seorang politikus wanita Australia bernama Pauline Hanson, ia merupakan senator yang menyuarakan rasisme dan ingin kebangkitan White Australia Policy. Ia kemudian mendirikan partai bernama One Nation Party yang juga menyuarakan rasisme dalam kebijakan partainya. Pada masa itu Australia yang berada dibawah kepemimpinan Perdana Menteri John Howard turut menyebabkan nama John Howard dituduh sebagai politikus yang rasis karena kebijakan imigrasi yang dikeluarkan merupakan tanggung jawabnya. ABSTRACTThis Essay discusses about racism in the Australian Imigration Policy. There is a hypothesis that imigration policy issued by the Australian Government in 1996 to 2007 was influenced by racism from several parties. In 1996, an Australian female politician named Pauline Hanson as a senator, she have voiced racism and wanted the resurrection of the White Australia Policy. She then founded a party called One Nation Party which also voiced racism in their policy. At that time Australia was under the leadership of Prime Minister John Howard, this led John Howard accused of being a racist politician because the immigration policy that has been issued was his responsibility. This essay use four stages of historical method to prove that there is an element of racism in Australian Immigration Policy applied from 1996 to 2007 as a result ofOne Nation Party rsquo s influence and John Howard rsquo s policies.
