"Preferensi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kecamatan Bekasi Selatan, Kota Bekasi dalam memilih lokasi perguruan tinggi menarik untuk diketahui karena terbatasnya pemilihan perguruan tinggi yang dianggap baik di Kecamatan Bekasi Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif dan analisis spasial berdasarkan data dari para siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui preferensi siswa SMA kelas XII dan pengaruh aspek kognitif terhadap preferensi siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kecamatan Bekasi Selatan dalam memilih lokasi perguruan tinggi. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah terdapat 3 karakteristik lokasi berdasarkan aksesibilitas perguruan tinggi dan reputasi perguruan tinggi. Karakteristik lokasi I telah dipilih oleh 38% siswa, karakteristik lokasi II telah dipilih oleh 61% siswa, dan karakteristik lokasi III telah dipilih oleh 1% siswa. Level kognitif (pengetahuan) setiap siswa dan karakteristik lokasi perguruan tinggi berpengaruh terhadap preferensi siswa SMA dalam memilih lokasi perguruan tinggi. Siswa dengan level kognitif yang tinggi dan memilih karakteristik lokasi perguruan tinggi dengan aksesibilitas yang tinggi dan reputasi yang baik akan membentuk preferensi pertama setiap siswa. Selain itu, pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa preferensi setiap siswa lebih ditentukan oleh reputasi perguruan tinggi dibandingkan dengan aksesibilitas perguruan tinggi. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan perguruan tinggi yang memiliki tingkat aksesibilitas yang sama tetapi memiliki jumlah siswa yang memilih perguruan tinggi tersebut berbeda.

Preference for High School students in South Bekasi Sub-District, Bekasi City chooses attractive tertiary locations because of the limited selection of tertiary institutions that are considered good in South Bekasi Sub-District. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with descriptive analysis and spatial analysis based on data from students. The results of this study that discuss the preferences of high school students (grade XII/last grade) and cognitive composition of the preferences of high school students in the Sub-District of South Bekasi in choosing the location of higher education. The results obtained are 3 location characteristics based on the accessibility of tertiary institutions and tertiary qualifications. Location characteristics I have been chosen by 38% of students, location characteristics II have been chosen by 61% students, and location characteristics III have been chosen by 1% students. Cognitive level of each student and the characteristics of the location of higher education towards the preferences of high school students in choosing the location of higher education. Students with a high cognitive level and choose the characteristics of college locations with high accessibility and good excellence will form the first preference of each student. In addition, this study shows that each student's preference is more determined by the university compared to the college's accessibility. This is indicated by universities that have the same level of accessibility but have a number of students who choose different tertiary institutions."
