"Pada tesis ini diuraikan mengenai teknik Heterodyne Optics yang memadukan dua dioda laser dengan terdapat perbedaan panjang gelombang yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembangkitan gelombang mikro yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam dunia radar. Untuk memperoleh output gelombang mikro yang tunable maka diperlukan sumber laser yang dapat diseleksi panjang gelombangnya, baik melalui perubahan temperatur untuk jenis laser DFB ataupun dengan mengubah posisi pitch grating untuk jenis External Cavity Laser Diode. Sistem optik diterapkan untuk mengatasi phase noise dan bit error rate akibat sistem frequency multiplier pada sistem Dielectrik Resonance Oscillator (DRO). Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa tunable laser dapat menghasilkan stepping selisih panjang gelombang 0,01nm dan menghasilkan gelombang mikro tiap 0,1GHz yang artinya sistem ini sangat berpotensi untuk menghasilkan gelombang mikro untuk RADAR pada berbagai frekuensi.
We describe in this paper the contruction 10 GHz microwave source using a heterodyne optics technique that combines two laser diodes with a wavelength differences can be utilized in the generation of microwaves to be applied in radar. To obtain the output microwave tunable laser source is needed which can be selected wavelength. DFB laser can be tune by change the temperature and ECLD can be tune by mechanical grating. Optical system is alternative that can solve the phase noise and bit error rate at Dielectrik Resonant Oscillator (DRO) system. The experimental results show that the tunable laser can be generate stepping of 0.01 nm wavelength differences and generating microwave 0.1 GHz, which means each of these systems has the potential to generate microwaves for RADAR at various frequencies."

ABSTRACTProbing of the atmospheric parameters have been done by many scientists since a century ago up to present with various techniques. A simple system of laser radar without using any collimated beam but a reflected mirror as transmitter and a small cassegranian type (10.5 an in diameter) telescope as receiving was constructed to investigate the relative Mie backscattering coefficient by utilizing a nitrogen laser as a light source in the range of measurement bellow 1 Km. The backscattered light received by the receiving telescope is converted into electric current by photomultiplier and is shown and known as "A scope" display on an oscilloscope. SNR of the signal from photomultiplier was increased by using a boxcar integrator and its output could be recorded with XY recorder."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang instrumen pengukuran perubahan nilai kelembaban yang dideteksi oleh perubahan nilai frekuensi akibat perubahan nilai kapasitansi pada sensor kelembaban HS1101. Frekuensi dihasilkan oleh osilator colpitts. komponen kapasitansi pada resonator diparalel dengan sensor kelembaban kapasitif HS1101. Perubahan nilai kelembaban diamati pada tiga cara berbeda, yaitu saat titik embun konstan, temperatur konstan, dan kelembaban konstan. Variabel yang diamati adalah kelembaban, temperatur, titik embun, kapasitansi, dan frekuensi. Selain itu juga melihat korelasi antara kelembaban dan titik embun sehingga dapat ditentukan titik embun dengan mengontrol temperatur dan kelembabannya. Instrumen pengukuran yang dibuat berhasil mendeteksi perubahan kelembaban dengan perbedaan nilai pada alat ukur referensi sebesar ±5%RH.
This Undergraduate Thesis is discussing about instrument relative humidity measurement that detected by changes of frequency value because changes of capacitance value in humidity sensor HS1101. Frequency produced by Colpitts Oscillator which capacitance component in resonator parallel to capacitive relative humidity sensor HS1101. The changes of relative humidity value that observed is constant. The variabels observed are relative humidity, temperature, dew point, capacitance, and frequency. Other than that, the objective is figure out the correlation between relative humidity and dew point so dew point in a system can concluded by controlling the temperature and relative humidity. This instrument measurement succeed to detect changes of relative humidity and has a delta ±5% to a reference."

ABSTRACTLaser induced thin film production (LITFP) technique was employed for making plumbum (Pb) thin film by nitrogen laser deposition in miniature scale. The energy of nitrogen laser operated at 12.5 kv, 90 torr was 3.5 mj with 5 ns pulse duration, thus producing peak power at around 0.7 MW. Pb plasma of 1 cm diameter was generated in each laser bombardment, producing thin film above the glass substrate.
The thin film characteristics were measured by means of their thickness and surface morphology using scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was proved that there was a linear relationship between the number of laser shots and film thickness."

"Kopling antara amplifier permukaan miring dan fiber taper lens-ended diselidiki secara teori. Penelitian teori didasarkan pada model gelombang bidang tiga dimensi yang dihitung melalui pergeseran fasa akibat permukaan iring. Kopling diselidiki berkenaan dengan parameter-parameter berkas dari pandu gelombang amplifier lens-ended, dan juga berkenaan dengan posisi fiber. Terjadinya rugi-rugi kopling karena permukaan miring dan karena variasi dari uji lens yang terbaik, rugi untuk permukaan miring 10° ditemukan lebih kecil dari 0.5 dB dibandingkan amplifier permukaan normal.
The coupling between angled-facet amplifiers and tapered lens-ended fibers is investigated theoretically. The theoretical investigation is based on a three-dimensional plane wave model which accounts for the phase differences introduced by the angled facets. The coupling is investigated with respect to the beam parameters of the amplifier wave guids and the tapered lens-ended fiber, and also with respect to the fiber position. For optimized lens radii the excess loss for 0l0° facet angle is found to be less than 0.5 dB compared to a normal facet amplifier."
